Not yet....but how was that not an intentional foul. He just grabbed the back of his jersey. No play on the ball at all.

They wont be considered Cinderellas but Butler and SIU both could go far in this tourney. Hopefully VCU can beat Pitt and Winthrop beat Oregon.

No more excuses, SIU. If those clowns can win, you can beat VT.

The offensive charge call was bad. Strawberry was in the air and under the basket when the contact was made. By rule, the defensive player has to let the offensive player land, so it should have been a foul on the Butler kid. Also, refs are instructed to not call offensive fouls underneath the basket. Thirdly, the ref that called it was looking through three players. How could see that?

What? .. were you pulling for Maryland? I thought it was a fantastic call. He didn't look through jack sqwat. Go Bulldogs!

go take a nap Keita...............no one here gives a crap for anything that happens to a Gary "Crybaby" Williams team. Get your chart out and record all of the calls that you perceive to be bad during the course of the tournament...................there will be MANY!

I picked Maryland to win that game, so yes I was pulling for Maryland.

You obviously haven't watched the replay. The ref was on the top side of the screen, had to look through the guy that passed the ball, the guy guarding the passer, and the guy trying to guard Strawberry.

If you know the rules of basketball, then you know if there is going to be a call in that situation, it has to be a defensive guy.

Still, I am happy that there is at least one Mid-Major team in the Sweet 16.

Does Memphis count as a mid-major? If they do, then there is a guaranteed two, SIU would make three. Pretty good representation.

You think I need to learn more about the game? You guys obviously don't even know the rules, but I need to learn more about the game?

Hey, watch the replay. Maybe you just can't see. Or maybe this has happened to you :chair: ?

I didn't see the play so I don't know where to fall into the letting the offensive player land. You do, unless you were there before he left the ground.

I'm not sure about college, but in HS it doesn't matter if you're under the basket or not. A charge is a charge.

And a defender can leave the floor and still get a charge against the offense. Verticality is what matters.

No You need to learn more about who you are rooting for. Maryland is probably more hated than Duke by MVC fans.

I will probably get roasted for this opinion also, but I thought that Strawberry was in the air and should have been able to land and didn't think it was a charge. And for the record, I absolutely cannot stand the Twerps! I just thought I would also say I saw it as the wrong call.

The charge on Strawberry was the wrong call but it just made up for a bogus charge called on Butler earlier in the game. Besides, shouldn't the mid-major get a break or two, every other advantage goes to the BCS school.

Right. And Vasquez should've also had an intentional foul at the end, too...I think it evened out.

So far in this tourney officials haven't called anything, and the more physical teams are winning. Butler is more physical than Maryland.

It was probably a bad call but I could care less. They could make Maryland play with one player against Butler in Indianapolis and I wouldn't have any sympathy for those *** pirates.

No offense, but Maryland is probably the most hated BCS team on this board thanks to Gary Williams.
