SIU's defense is amazing!

I apologize for my braggadocio but SIU's defense really made Holy Cross and Virginia Tech look absolutely horrible this weekend.

If I'm not mistaken, it was extremely close most of the game.

Sure, SIU was more talented. But you hardly made them look horrible.

They didn't do much offensively. The Patriot League POY didn't have a field goal. Almost half their points came on free throws. Extremely close doesn't mean they didn't suck offensively. We sucked offensively, too.

My mistake for starting this thread. I thought I might be able to get some props for the Salukis' D today. Guess not.

OH MY GOD. That was the best display of defense I have ever had the chance to witness. I've never seen a team with such an amazing defensive presence. I bow down to Southern Illinois University!

Objectionably, what? SIU held there best scorer with out a basket, who was the POY in their league. Not how is that not great D. If you say well that is just Holy Cross then you can become a Maryland fan and jump on the Gary bandwagon. :valley:

If your best player and a POY not making 1 basket in a whole game not making you look horrible than what do you have to do?

And without their leading scorer the #13 seed still faired pretty well against their highly favored opponent. Yeah, they played horrible. Man, if they played decent, let alone great, they would have smoked SIU.

What I am saying, is at no point in the entire game did I think, man, Holy Cross sucks. Look at how good SIU is. I thought, good game SIU. Keep it up. That is all. Now drop it.

I watched the HC game. If SIU hadnt had great deffense they would have gotten smoked. Boyle was their best offensive player. Need I say more?
