Went to Realtime to see where we were at as compared with the Little 12 and decided to see where the teams still playing were ranked. Wisconsin is the only team in the top 10 that didn't make the Sweet 16. 13 are in the top 21 with the exceptions being Butler, USC and Vandy. I'll admit the one flaw may be this is the RPI as of today so there may be a little shift for the success these teams have had in the last 4 days (I know KU has moved up about 4 spots). But I think this also shows the RPI isn't all the computer mumbo jumbo that some in the BCS try to pretend when it doesn't produce the numbers they want. I live in KC and have heard more Big 12 fans laugh that the numbers would dare imply the MVC is better than the Big 12. If SIU wins Thursday I don't EVER want to hear this again.

I was thinking how the BCS did against the non-BCS in the first 2 rounds and here is what I came up with.
14 non-BCS teams ranked from 1-12 seed in the tourney (at-large range)
BCS vs non-BCS: 6-6 2 of those games had the non-BCS team as a higher seed.(UNLV vs GT, SIU vs VT)
4 non-BCS teams knocked off by other non-BCS (ODU, BYU, Nev, CU)
4 non-BCS teams in the sweet 16
Looks like the non-BCS teams did pretty well especially when considering seeds.

BCS schools conveinently like RPI's when they are playing (with) each other in their "big" conferences, but not when a "who do they think they are" "mid-major" happens to be ranked higher than them. Here's my wish: The NCAA and sports media tell the truth. If BCS schools have high RPI's we will consider it and rely heavily on it. If they don't, the selection committee and national media will not consider it b/c then it is an unreliable indicator (after all, if it was a reliable indicator the BCS schools would be ranked high).
My challenge is the same as it always is: Just play the games on FAIR terms. If the BCS schools are so tough, keep scheduling the so-called "mid-majors"
