Andy Katz is reporting that other sources tell him the MVC and the CAA have been getting a lot of attention by the selection committee in Indy, and that he was told that there could be a high-major disappointment, and a mid-major surprise!

6 from the MVC and 3 from the CAA.
Kentucky is hoping South Carolina loses today.

This could be VERY, VERY good news. It could also mean that the selection committee is determined to make the high majors take notice of the new rpi formula .. .and make them start abiding by it and playing the mid majors at our place.

Somebody should tell Andy there is disappointment from the non BCS leagues every year.
That said, I've got 5 MVC teams and 3 Colonial teams in the field. I have Creighton as one of my last four out.

O ye of little faith.........
Once we get 6 in, we had better win some games. We need to make the "new RPI" look good so some of these stuck-up schools will actually try playing a few road games.

I heard the exact same thing on the radio as well today, Maybe the MVC will get 6?? I'd guess 5 though.

I would think five are in. Creighton may very well be out, but I'll be pulling for them and all the Valley teams, even... ...BU.

i'm betting the mvc gets 5 (creighton or mo. state out) and the mid-major surprise is utah state or hofstra.
the major school to be disappointed is either cincy or seton hall.

After rethinking all of this, my guess for the major disappointment is Texas A&M. They are 1-5 against top 50 teams and have a losing road record. I think they are getting left out. Hofstra will Dance.

not a bad thought, but i can't see the big 12 only getting three bids.
on the mid-major side, i could see utah state getting the at-large so the mid-major bids were more spread out.

Most final brackets have mo stat in ahead of CU - so i think (hope, pray) the case is that msu is in before.. havent heard much negative this morning or afternoon about mo state.. so i hope they are in and maybe CU takes that last spot from FSU and we get six in. maybe that is their way of rewarding schools for playing away games.

From the committee's standpoint, it's much easier to defend Missouri State and Creighton as individual schools "in" the tournament, as opposed to Florida State, Michigan, or Seaton Hall.
They can't exactly say, "well, we just didn't want to include 6 from the Valley."
