First the Crouch injury(He needs surgery) Now it's official that Fears is gone. I heard some people thought he was the best player on the team this year in practice.

At least we may get another recruit or two in the next couple weeks. I'm still hoping for Coley although that is unlikley.

Urban Ledgend.....people WANTED him to be the best. You must outwork guys like Ruffin, Crouch, Warren.....not just show up and THINK you are the best.
JL WON'T let anyone disrupt the team. He Gone......
This is certainly a kick in the balls. I guess I'll have to drink more at the beerfest this weekend.

Well, at least now there's no need to yank anyone's scholarship....

What about Dwight Buycks departure as well? I hate hearing this type of news, it brings back memories of what's been happening at Illinois State the last few years.....

All-state guard Dwight Buycks of Bay View has decided to attend prep school next school year instead of continuing on to Bradley University, where he committed after a December visit.

Buy a link hereThe main reason for the change, Buycks said, was to raise his core grade-point average, which is already high enough to qualify, and to prepare for the ACT, a test he has taken twice without passing.
"It was because of my grades and trying to qualify for a Division I school," he said. "The grades are straight. It's just mostly about the ACT." ...

I believe the bradleyfans.com website had that news weeks ago. It was at the time that Tyrone Cole-Scott gave a verbal commitment. Basically the same type of player as Dwight Buycks. It's a juco instead of a high school player. Obviously, most people would rather have the high school player with the high ceiling.
The reason that others backed off on Buycks was the non-qualifying ACT score. Bradley took a chance on a player that they ordinarily won't get. It obviously didn't pan out. Buycks never did sign a National Letter of Intent.

BU is better off without Fears.. I was told by someone close to the situation that he was a cancer. Of course a lot of schools knew that last year BU took a chance, as most would have and found out it was true. The kid is a head case and its good for BU that he will not contaminate their team.

Former Limestone High School basketball star DeAaron Williams of Illinois Central College, who had signed to play for Bradley has not met NCAA requirements to transfer into the school. That sucks for the Braves.
The 6-5 wing, started his college career at the Wisconsin where he redshirted as a freshman and then transfered to Illinois Central College.

I think it sucks more for DW than BU bdog....it appears Wilson is very similar to DW with better numbers in a tougher conference and a GREAT attitude. PLUS we beat out ISU for him which never hurts.

Theron Wilson is a virtual clone of Williams, but a little bigger. I don't think we gain or lose much with him, other than a better attitude. Austin actually gives BU some real frontcourt depth, which could prove valuable in key non-conference games against Michigan St and Iowa St, and against a team like SIU who has bangers like Falker, Shaw, and Boyle.

I know nothing about Theron Wilson, but if Bradley can arrange it so that Charlize Theron would attend all away games, I'll consider shifting my rooting habits....
Subgod - you on board with that suggestion? Maybe she should be added to the group of ladies in your sig..
