The sane and knowledgeable WSU posters avoid VT because of Cold.

I think Omaha is a wonderful city. I have friends in Omaha and visit regularly. Qwest is an outstanding facility. Wichita is a wonderful city. Koch is an outstanding facility. Qwest is bigger and has substantially more amenities. I count beer as a major amenity.

Cold simply poisons threads. Cold makes it impossible for WSU fans to contribute knowledge, information, insight or speculation on VT. After Cold hits a thread, the only discussion is a pissing match. That eliminates WSU posters who want discussion or to share info or knowledge with VT posters.

Cold will threaten WSU fans who don't back him up. Last time I challenged Cold, he published enough info about me that a simple Google search would find my street address, phone number and when my weekly routine had me out of my house. I don't choose to publish on the Net when it's OK for burglars to show up at my house. Cold will do that to WSU fans who don't back Cold's insane arrogance.

Cold had to go to a lot of effort that "normal" VT posters would never consider to get that info about me.

In my opinion Cold is a psycopath and is a danger to others who don't agree with him - particularly if they are WSU fans.

I've just self-defined myself as insane and delusional. Only insane and delusional WSU fans come to VT because there's no way WSU fans can be considered seriously with the poison Cold has spread on VT about WSU fans.

WSU has a lot of knowledgeable and educated fans who respect the rest of the Valley. Cold's pompous arrogance prevents us from posting on VT.

It took a while but I finally rattled the cage of ShockerNation's most verbose blowhard. Aargh rewrote the book (much too long I might add) on how to use the maximum amount of characters to achieve the minimum result. It might seem laughable for me to say that his goal in posting is merely self-promotion, but I think the few of us on here (very few) who are cognitively sharp can tell the difference between someone who truly has unique ideas and someone who merely regurgitates for praise.

Aargh is his own worst enemy. He purports to be this "sane and knowledgeable" poster yet he makes it his life mission to stalk me and comment continuously on whether or not my post appeals to him. :lol: What today has proven is that Aargh, just like the many fish who came before him, became exhibit #313 on how not to play the game if you're going to come "knocking at my door".

Over the years I have told many on here how to beat me at my own game. All you have to do is control your insecurities and emotions and you will not end up like poor old Aargh ensnared in a net of anxiety, despair, and humiliation. If it wasn't for the fact that Aargh had made it his mission to follow me around like an abused Chihuahua constantly nipping at my heels, I never would have copied the email address he publicly posted on Shockernet and typed it into Google detailing his entire career path as well as his "fascinating" obsession with the "art" of throwing darts. While I know more about my "dear friend" Aargh than I ever hoped to, I think it is for the best. I am going to single-handedly relieve Aargh from his obsession by offering him small punishments when he finds himself firmly attached to my backside again.. We will use a little Operant conditioning to help Aargh find his way back into the turbulent stream called life and out of CB's net.

None of my actions on Shockernet or Valleytalk constitute a violation of anyone's privacy and all information obtained was through public avenues. I am a law-abiding, non-violent citizen with no criminal record. I make no real threat implied or otherwise to Aargh and Co. that goes beyond a little "friendly" Internet smack.

While I have seen Cold irritate, frustrate, and p*ss off many a VT member, I dont count him as the sole WSU jerk who gives everyone else a bad name. There were so many WSU newbies that came flying out of the woodwork talking smack last November, that Cold didnt have to speak and everyone was still mad at WSU fans.

Personally, I can see the fans that appreciate the game and dont choose to engage in hometown p*ssing matches or degrade other teams fans as lesser people in society. Sometimes Cold likes to cross that line to stir things up. Yet sometimes he doesnt say anything, and someone on a thread brings him up randomly, and the next thing you know the first volley is out there and a thread deteriorates into CU vs WSU, SIU defense is the worst I have ever seen, etc.

If people would stop trying to call him out, he isnt so bad. If you call him out, then everyone is gonna get it.

This couldnt be a more true quote. I am not commenting on Aargh, but rather Cold stating his case. What happened/is happening between them is unfortunate, but it isnt up to me to lay down any sort of law about this. Plus, I see Colds reaction, but I dont see the reason he reacted. However, our lives outside of the messageboard are out of bounds if you ask me. Unless you are telling everyone who you are and expect people to address you with your first name, I do feel that posting information about a previously anonymous person, (whatever way you acquired the information) is a potentially dangerous situation.

In the end, this seems like a personal matter between two posters who need to resolve this themselves. It is possible to read and not reply. Or avoid altogether. The ignore function is fabulous, you just have to deny your compulsion to read what you cannot see.

Depends where you live. The nicer neighborhoods will appraoch the same values as most other mid west cities (but they are few), but this is southern illinois, so there are many neighborhoods where you can get homes well below national averages if your willing to put up with this scenario:

nice house, nice house, nice house, crappy house, nice house, crappy house, crappy house, nice house type of neighborhoods with an interesting array of people who live in the homes. In other words you can get a decent hosue for cheap if you are willing to put up with the crap around it.

As for me, we are moving into one of the few nice neighborhoods, however, we are buying the house from my fiance' parents at a very discounted price. Its not free, but its about half of market value. They moved out of this house years ago when her grandparents moved to Florida and left my fiance's parents the house they are living in currently. So they have this extra house just sitting. It needs some remodeling, but at the price we are getting it at, that's not a problem. We are getting a sweet deal.

There are plenty of very beautiful houses outside of Carbondale(still Carbondale, but outside of city limits). Many teachers and alumni have taken advantage of cheaper land, cost of living, etc and have turned out some really eye opening houses in and around the shawnee national forest. I delivered to Paul Simons house, it looks like a crushed gravel road leading to nowhere, and it opens up to a beautiful ranch overlooking a pond. The neighborhood where Bruce Weber lived was upscale to the extreme.

You would be quite surprised.

I couldn't agree more. Cold is almost as funny as me and whenever I see his name on a thread, I read it.

However, if Cold is posting crap on Shockernet like Aargh says he is, , I do think it is overstepping the boundaries. While the Aargh's and eomaha's of the world make mistakes and post personal information on websites, what Aargh is claiming Cold did would be using that information as a clear intimidation technique. It also compromises others safety and should be against the rules.

People like Aargh don't intend for personal information that they post on other sites or links they post to be used against them. I think they feel they know the people on these boards and get a false sense of security. I can't help the fact that they post it. I would never post personal information even on a small forum. I do know people who have actually been stalked and injured for posting similar stuff, it isn't funny, it's a real threat, whether or not Cold thinks he's being funny.

Even though this information is available to the public through Google, I think ValleyTalk should stay above the fray, understand that this can be dangerous, and declare this type of behavior off limits and bannable. Lets not end the smack, it's my favorite part, but lets keep it fun and safe.

Last fall, not many people from Wichita State were as anti-Cold as they are now. I think it has alot to do with how everybody in Wichita was awaiting a very promising basketball season, Cold was on fire and nobody from Wichita saw him as anything more than a person going a tad bit too far. He was only considered a problem by people who jumped into his traps. Then the Shockers suffered the the collapse. At that point, it wasn't just Creighton fans that lashed back, it was everybody else on ValleyTalk. Shocker fans didn't like it. It was ugly and many have blamed Cold for the treatment.

What I see different now is just about everyone on this board sees Cold as Cold; they either like him or hate him. I doubt that today too many ValleyTalk members consider Cold a typical Shocker fan, he is just Cold and does not represent anything Wichita State. So when Cold spouts, unless you jump on his bandwagon, I don't think he will be perceived as representing Shocker Nation.

My pipeline was so full with prospects that I thought my work on here would never cease. But alas, all "good" things must come to an end and over the years "balance" has been restored. CB is in semi-retirement compared to the old days and the only reason I still hang around is to police for the very rare oddity like a Rasputin etc. (and of course the eternal promotion of anything WSU).

My heart is sympathetic for the truly pacifistic poster on VT for my style and candor must seem crude, barbaric and rather unsettling. To those I apologize. For those who's support/criticisms of my posting change with the seasons (Aargh, MKR, Outpost etc) I have no sympathy. Those type of people have feasted on my smack scraps for years showing great support during a time that is convenient for them and then turn their coats inside out when the topical popularity pendulum swings to the other side. That unfortunately shows a lack of character and I don't really have much more to say about that..

Personally, I don't care whether you stay, or whether you go. I'm with MVJ, you're just cold being cold.

I know longer see you as a wichita fan, I simply see you as cold, who isn't really cheering on his shockers, as much you are trying to knock everyone else down. The argument over whether that is being a true fan is up for debate, but that is neither here nor there.

Your defense of Wichita is admirable. I live on the west coast and I'm sure it's true of the east coast, but when people on both sides think of Wichita, Kansas, they think flatlands and hicks. Of course, that's a dangerous generalization, as not everyone from Kansas is a hick, and there are plenty of urban hicks on both coasts, but the generalization is pervasive, and some of it not all too flattering.

Hence, the irony of it. I'm not knocking Wichita, and not even knocking smaller cities, towns or rural areas--I actually appreciate all of the above, as I have lived in those regions as well. I was just calling out the hypcrosy of his rants. And to be honest, I've met people who live in trailer parks and they are not necessarily bad or stupid--and certainly in many cases, nicer than city slickers. Hence, my statement that there was nothing wrong with living in trailer parks.

As for my one of my rides, it cost low six figures, so it is not a 73 Pinto and it is not a K-car, and it probably isn't worth more than his dwelling, but I was making a point. Your defense of Wichita is admirable. I live on the west coast and I'm sure it's true of the east coast, but when people on both sides think of Wichita, Kansas, they think flatlands and hicks. Of course, that's a dangerous generalization, as not everyone from Kansas is a hick, and there are plenty of urban hicks on both coasts, but the generalization is pervasive, and some of it not all too flattering.

Hence, the irony of it. I'm not knocking Wichita, and not even knocking smaller cities, towns or rural areas--I actually appreciate all of the above, as I have lived in those regions as well. I was just calling out the hypcrosy of his rants. And to be honest, I've met people who live in trailer parks and they are not necessarily bad or stupid--and certainly in many cases, nicer than city slickers. Hence, my statement that there was nothing wrong with living in trailer parks.

As for my one of my rides, it cost low six figures, so it is not a 73 Pinto and it is not a K-car, and it probably isn't worth more than his dwelling, but I was making a point. Going to have to agree with the majority on bragging about material wealth--it's bad form. So if it sounded like I was bragging, I apologize. But I wasn't--I was defending people who live in trailer parks, and I was defending the residents of the other 9 MVC cities/towns--aside from Wichita, which I don't have anything against either. I didn't live in a trailer park in Carbondale, and of the ones I knew that did, I had no problems with. We all got bussed into different grade schools, and ended up at CCHS in high school. Big deal--no need to make fun of them.

It's *****ty of coldblooded to denigrate them, and highly arrogant. He's deluded enough to think other posters think of him. If anything, when the topic comes up, it's a consensus that he is a bore, unoriginal, mean-spirited, and despite his constant protestations, he's not funny either. He's more annoying than anything else, and he openly proclaims that is his purpose--to get under our skins. If one were to think about that, one really understands how pathetic an individual he is.

However, if there is any doubt on Pride, two words: Wanderlei and Fedor.

Chuck Liddell wouldn't have a chance against many Pride heavyweights. Hell, Jackson is a Pride also-ran and he almost killed Liddell in Pride. They'll get another chance at each other.

Fedor has got to be the scariest man on earth with bare hands. Nogueria is skilled, but not as scary as Fedor.

However, with MMA, they all have a fighting chance, and all it takes is one big strike. There's some luck involved, too--good and bad.

There's not only the primadonna actors, models, and talent agent-young Turk-playboys in Santa Monica you have to worry about, but also the crack-slinging, hard thugs in Venice to sweat over too. There are some neighborhoods in Venice where it's not hard to believe a mini-Va Tech occurs every night. And then you cross over a couple blocks and you're in the middle of $5 million neighborhoods. And Venice is considered "slumming it".

Oh yea, I also forgot the starving, tortured wannabe rock stars and actors. For some reason, the hottest chicks gravitate towards them, too.

Watch the HBO show Entourage. It's humorous not only because it's ridiculous, but it's pretty accurate, too.

In a Mere attempt to jumpstart the Trash Talk forum, I'll give it a go. Outpost you suck, your mom sucks, your wife sucks, your kids suck. You live in a sucky house in a sucky neighborhood in a sucky town. Your car sucks, your job sucks and your boss sucks. You wake up in a sucky bed, with sucky pillows and a sucky mattress. Your back hurts because your bed sucks so bad, but so does your chiropractor, so there's no fixing your sucky back.
