the flip side of that is, if Altman had gone to Arkansas maybe his influence would have kept the kid out of trouble.

Nah, with that bad knee Dana would not have caught him.

Altman wouldn't have just kept the kid from getting arrested, he would have brought 1.3 billion in economic packages to the Fayetteville area, he would have inspired the Arkansas football team to win the national championship, and would have fathered three children who would grow up to be senators, and one would eventually be elected to Mayor of Earth.

Seriously. He's just a man. Arkansas is in a lot of trouble. THIS. IS. WHY. HE. DIDN'T. WANT. THE. JOB.

Actually, I talked with Dana and he told me the reason he came back is that he just loves to kick the s*** out of Drake two and three times per year and woulda missed it too much.

How did the mighty Panthers do against those poor old Dogs last season? If Drake could have played UNI 10 more times they would have made the Dance easily.

DING DING DING! You are the FIRST pathetic Drake fan to use this reference regarding UNI vs. Drake basketball! Tell him what he's won!

A lifetime supply of whatever it is Tom Davis is drinking to stay alive

An old, aged videotape of the last time Drake had a winning season some two long decades ago
3,000 mannequins you can put in all those empty seats in Knapp Center when the Bulldogs are not playing Iowa or Iowa State. Please note: it won't be necessary to do this for UNI because they buy all your tickets for you
The money that was going to be spent on fielding a real football team

Congrats, you beat UNI twice for the first time in... EVER. Where's the confetti for that?

Thanks. I wasn't trying to slam, I just wondered where it came from and thought it might be an Iowa-only thing. Kinda like Maid-Rites!

Wow. Somebody is cranky. A UNI fan talking smack about attendance is hilarious. UNI outdrew Drake by an average 200 fans last year despite their shiny new arena. Was everybody too excited from a 7-4 football season to go to a game? Way to waste every last bit of momentum from three straight tourney appearances.

Panthera Pardus

This is fair enough. I would like to cite our ticket office's grand ineptitude as far as that goes... besides, we're ALWAYS going to be dead even with dear old Drake because our arenas are almost the exact same size.

And that 7-4 season... ugh. You just found my achilles heel. We don't like to talk about that. Losing to Drake twice in a year is one thing, but losing to F***ING Western Illinois??? Ridiculous.

Thanks for playing us again, btw. I mean that.

What do UNI fans think about playing football at Drake? As a Drake fan, I've got mixed feelings.....it will be Drake's biggest crowd of the season, but realistically, Drake has no chance to hang with UNI. I know the 'dogs almost beat MSU a couple of years ago at their place, but UNI is a whole different animal. I guess that I'm ok with it as long as Drake doesn't have any players injured in the game.

Panthera Pardus

Actually, the mood in Camp Purple is that while Drake wasn't the most ideal of opponents, it's still a good game to schedule. Drake is a Division I win in a decent place to play football that will bring a lot of fans. There have even been talks of the series continuing beyond 2007 since there seems to be at least a little bit of interest that wouldn't normally be there for UNI's OOC games that aren't Iowa or Iowa State. I, for one, like the idea of having Drake as a regular on the schedule, but I can understand if Drake fans are a little wary of it.

I actually thought it was pretty hilarious. Well thought out too I might add. By the way, where were all the Drake fans in St. Louis this year? Living in Des Moines I have grown quite fond of the Junior College we have in the ghetto and wanted to party with some of its fans at the MVC tourny. I couldn't find one of them. The football thing is a joke. If they want to come to the UNI dome and take there 50 point loss every year that is fine, we have not business going to their place to play Division III football. Thats right, division III. Thats exactly what Drake is. Maybe we can get Central College on the schedule next year huh? One more thing. I don't know what your university had to smoke to fudge your basketball attendence numbers but there is no possible way whatsoever that you guys averaged 200 more people per game than us this year. None. Forget about it. I was at games at both arena's against Evansville and against Southern Illinois. At Drake it was sit anywhere you would like night, at UNI it was "I hope I don't have to stand in the corner." One more thing. Our attendence numbers don't include a the 12,000 people that were at the Iowa State game as it was held in the dome. I am sure that your attendence numbers inlude your game where you killed the Hawkeyes in front of 6,000 fans wearing Black and Gold.

If you're going to bring smack, at least try for something semi-original. The ghetto stuff and the football stuff is getting monotonous.

Just one thought:

If they want to come to the UNI dome and take there 50 point loss every year that is fine, we have not business going to their place to play Division III football.

Isn't that more of an issue for UNI's athletic department? I don't think Drake is holding a gun to UNI's head to force them to come to Des Moines to play.

Generally, when you post incendiary comments as you did, you open yourself up to any and all criticisms. That would include spelling, grammar and your ugly momma. So, if you don’t like the replies, clean up your posts, try using spell check, or better yet, stay in the baby pool. No dunking in the baby pool!
I’m still trying to figure out the nuances of your original post; I ran it through spell check, it crashed my computer.

Excuse me. I don't party with underage idiots who think the UNI Dump is a palace. By the way, it's "mom's basement," not "moms basement." I'd really like to see the Iowa Board of Regents elevate the admissions standards at UNI. If you can get it, it's way too easy. I'd like to see my tax money put to better use.

Well, I am a married adult with children. Not underage. Second off, I don't really care at all about spelling, grammer, etc... on message boards as you can tell, I just like to have a little fun on them. Oh, about Drake, please let me know where I can find you next year as I start my Masters in Educational Leadership there in the fall. Funny, do the regents need to raise their standards above Drake's? Hmmm?

Great! A teacher who doesn't care about spelling and grammar! Furthermore, we have a teacher who wants to move into administration that doesn't care about spelling and grammar. I worry about the future of our children.

It is odd that he would refer to Drake as a junior college in the ghetto in his first post, and then to come back and admit that he is going to be taking grad classes at Drake.

Anyway, Jegbomb......despite any smack talk on ValleyTalk, we'd probably buy you a beer if you show up at the West End before a basketball game.
