Bill Parcells did polay at the University of Wichita. Jimmy Johnson never played at Wichita State, he was merely an assistant coach. No more, no less. Furthermore, Johnson is about the most overrated, self promoted football coach, ever. He was a medicre college coach until he got the break of his life in getting the Miami Hurricane gig that Howard Scnellenberger built. Furthermore, he can be blamed for turning the program into the inmate asylum that it is. The only reason he won a Super Bowl at Dallas, was because of the talent the Cowboys stole from Minnesota. That was Jerry Jones' trade and money that made it all happen, nothing to do with Johnson. Heck, even Switzer won a Super Bowl at Dallas! What did Johnson do at the Dolphins, nothing! That is, unless you call putting the final stamp of medicrity on the team Shula built. No, Jimmy Johnson had three breaks in his life (1) He played football at Arkansas, won a national championship and became friends with Jerry Jones. (2) He happened to be available when Schnellenberger left Miami and (3) was the benefactor of being a friend of Jerry Jones at the time that Jones bought the Cowboys and was throwing cash around .

First of all, he did not steal anything from the Vikings. Cowboys asked, and they said YES!!! He (Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones ) should get a medal for making such a great deal. Again, the Vikings said yes!!

Yep. I think MoValleyJohn is a little bitter. Jimmy Johnson was the savior of Cowboys football. If Jerry Jones is so good why hasn't he been able to continue to deliver like he did in the 90's? June Jones? Is that the best he could do?

Steal is not accurate, I was trying to make a point. The Cowboys got real good, real fast, trading Herschel Walker. That said, Jimmy Johnson was new to the team and Jerry Jones was making lots of deals to get the team better. Jones hit the motherload with Minnesota. Jimmy Johnson wasn't the man behind the trade that made the Cowboys great, Jerry Jones was. Jimmy was the benefactor of being a college buddy. When Jimmy Johnson's head got too big, wanted more control of the team and started taking too much credit, the feud between he and Jones began.

Really? Of what? I'm a flippin' Bears fan. Neither Jerry Jones nor Jimmy Johnson has done anything to me or the Bears. I have nothing in which to be bitter. I only brought it up because he was listed as a Wichita State All-Time Great. His short stint at Wichita State was as an assistant coach, I don't think that merits a mention. Furthermore, I think he's overrated, not an all-time great. Just my opinion.
Now, why hasn't Jones been able to continue, that's easy. Go back to my first post. Jerry Jones made a trade with Minnesota that was a bad deal on an historical level. It was so one-sided, it wasn't even funny. He made several other one-sided deals. He lost the trust of the other owners, not a good thing to do if you want to continue making deals. He then made the Nike deal and signed several other exclusive merchandising deals that flew in the face of the NFL's revenue sharing. Remember, because of the merchandising deals, the NFL sued Jerry Jones. The league and all other owners hate Jerry Jones. And while the hatred is slowly evaporating, Jerry Jones is still not trusted by other owners and they are leery of making deals. Not too hard to understand. If you are still confused, Google Jeery Jones with Nike, or Jerry Jones with Dr. Pepper. You will quickly see why it's hard for him to negotiate with other owners.
Now that I've explained my opinion, once again, tell me why I'm bitter?

That's fine. I wish you would have explained that just a little before you went off on Johnson. I guess the only way you're bitter is that you don't really like Jerry Jones. Heck, I'm a Cowboys fan and I'm tired of Jerry Jones. He has run his course in the NFL.

Yep, that would be a major factor. And Deion didn't help. But every owner that wants to compete has to work within the salary cap, I just mentioned factors that set Jerry Jones apart from everyone else.

BTW, good plan to cut the nationally ranked wrestling and gymnastics programs from ISU to put more money in the football program. That's worked out well for us.
