I know its not what everyone wants to see but espn says 8pm they were going to announce but I haven't seen anything yet.

Anybody out there hear anything?

NIT website has no update yet either.

If anything, the NIT is known for its gross incompetence. Good to see that that hasn't gone away under new management.

They were supposed to be announced tonight on ESPNU if you are one of the 37 people in the country who gets that channel.

They're up at nit.org

Creighton and MSU can't even get #1 seeds in the NIT either. CU is a 2 seed playing the winner of Akron and Temple.

MSU is also a #2 seed and plays the winner of Stanford and Virginia.

A #2 seed in the NIT. What a crock.

Write those checks to the NCAA now. They suuuuuuuure appreciate it.

MSU can shut up Tom Penders in the following round. I know it will be tough for the bears to get up, but let's hope they can do it! :valley:

NCAA = :cursing:

At least both teams get a couple home games. We have a shot to play Maryland, but it would be in the final 4 or the championship. MSU and CU have to represent in these games...we can't afford an early exit in the first round or two, making it easy for the NCAA to justify what they did.

Creighton has to get to Madison Square to get a shot at Maryland. Go for it.

I can only assume that's a typo with CU not being in bold. I hope they are not saying the 2 seed has to travel.

I may drive to Springfield on Wednesday to see that game. It should fun and MSU should be fired up to take out one of the big boys. Will tickets be hard to get?

actually Creighton doesn't even get a home game  , there's some dirt bike crap at the qwest center that night, and we have more season ticketholders than the civic (old arena) even holds. If you look at the bracket on nit.org home teams are in CAPS and we definately are not. Crappy day all around.

look out! posting this kind of radical thinking may cause some to spout off about how it doenst matter...i found this out when i said that the valley teams need to win in the NIT and the NCAA in my "soap box post of the day" thread. but i am with you. represent on every level.

what are you talking about? Creighton is in caps, that means they will be a home team for their first game. At least that is how I see it.

Wow. First either two awful BCS teams. Then...the chance to play Houston to find out who's less irrelevant! And THEN...the most overrated garbage team in the NCAA this year--Louisville. Oh, yeah--AT Louisville.

Yep, we're going to get a fair shake from the NCAAs. One of these years. If you believe in unicorns or something like that.

And WHEN is MSU's first game? Friday. During the *real* tournament. There might be eight people watching. Maybe. If there's TV coverage.

hmm it definately changed to CAPS, I downloaded the first version but the new one changed. Hopefully they moved the motocross thing to the civic, or worked something out. Good catch.

Creighton had to get a home game being a 2 seed in that bracket.

They moved the game from Friday to Thursday, which is good, since now it will be at the Phone Booth (Qwest Center). Bad news, though: I can't go that night. :cursing:

Good to see no sub .500 teams in this tourney! I was afraid I would see about five 13-16 BCS teams keeping Creighton out of the NIT as well!

Did I think it was going to happen? No.
Would it have surprised me? Not after the jobbing the committee did to the Valley today.

Good luck to the Bears and the Blue Jays in the NIT. Wouldn't suprise me a bit to see one of these schools hoisting a 2006 National Invitation Tournament Champions banner after it's all said and done.

I'd like to see either one win, but the sentimental fav to me is Creighton...not a Creighton fan per say, but 2nd fav team in the conference.

I've got to say this.

There is something "special" about getting home games for post-season. I know it's not the fans or the teams goals, but a couple of home games is a great reward for the fans and players.

WSU fans took a lot of heat for enjoying the extra home games the last several years. I'm certain MSU and CU fans will enjoy the extra opportunities to watch their teams on their home court.

I love CU's bracket. OkSt, UM, ND. Something gives me the feeling a lot of CU fans will be rooting for ND to win their part of the bracket. Just call it a hunch that CU fans might cheer for ND. If any team other than UM wins that part of the bracket, CU could win out in Omaha to go to MSG.

If any consolation particularly for Creighton fans, I see that the powerful Huskers get to travel to "Hofstra" for their NIT game.
