As a conference we are really going to have to win some games in the non-con because some of these experts/publications quickly forgot how good we have been the last few years. A Sweet 16 team that returns 3 starters, and who will be picked to win the MVC, should be just a little bit higher than #40.

Just win.
And don't worry about the media bandwagon if you do win, they'll long forget about you by January when Conference play heats up, only to remind all the adoring fans at Tourney time that they projected so-and-so would be a team to watch way back in December and that "everybody forgot about them."
Just win. :valley:

this was cool
Wichita State (17-14): The MVC will be difficult again but the Shockers have new coach Gregg Marshall ready to compete. Wichita State will be tested early by competing in the Paradise Jam down in the Virgin Islands, plus LSU, UAB, Wyoming and Appalachian State in non-conference play. While several veterans from last year's squad are gone, the cupboard isn't totally bare. PJ Couisnard (11.8 pts, 5.8 reb.) and Matt Braeuer lead the returning talent.

What's your point? I didn't mean rankings in general, I meant this specific one.

You wholesale dismiss one ranking as "ridiculous" without further comment, while pimping your team's spot in two other rankings in your signature. I'm just saying it makes you sound like a major homer who doesn't pay attention to anything that doesn't praise your team.

And we all know that VT posters are objective observers who would never allow anything favorable about our teams to cloud our totally objective opinions of our teams.

That's why we have VT, to bring posters down on those rare occasions when they lose objectivity

I am happy to say that I lost my objectivity on a date with my "then" future wife.

DV's Top Ten is finally published, for those who are interested. No surprise that UNC is his top pick.
I really don't mind DV myself. Yeah, most of the time he is pro-FBS (or BCS, or whatever the elitist programs call themselves today), but he will give some occasional recognition to the rest of us.
Does anyone have a game scheduled with any of DV's Top 10 (Michigan St., Memphis, Louisville, Indiana)?
Unfortunately, the answer to that question is no for WSU.

Michigan State goes to Bradley. Hopefully, the Braves will do better than their abysmal showing at East Lansing last year.
