Hey, MSU does have a website - and it's up and running.

I had a couple of links, but I guess they were from the long-gone former board.

Now I can keep up with all the current stuff at MSU, like this headline that was on rotation on Mens' Basketball - "Missouri State Board approves Barry Hinson coaching contract extension"

This seems to be a different contract than what was reported after the end of the last basketball season.

I'm probably mistaken, but I thought Hinson got a one-year extension and had 2 total years. It looks like he got a 2-year extension and has 3 years on his contract.

It really looks like no one is going to hire Hinson away from MSU and no one at MSU is going to cut Hinson loose.

I guess it's better to be the perennial bridesmaid than to take a risk at being the ugly step-sister.

Contract has 3 years on it but has a 1 year buy out in place

It's dead. I've been thinking about starting my own board with...um...more leeway for opinion. Let me know if there's any interest.

Do we (other Valley posters) get "more leeway" too? :naughty:

If I run it, it depends on whether I like you or not. Hey--at least I'm honest. :)

I'd be interested. I'd lend a hand if you needed any help.

I don't know what the deal is with letsgobears. Steve, are you checking this board much? What's the deal?

Very rarely.

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn

Seems like I'm not on message boards much any more.

I guess that means letsgobears is dead. O well it lasted me almost all the way through my college years.

So it's dead?

Pity.

Seriously, pity.

Now that I'm over that, if there's anyone else around here who's actually run their own message board (including hosting and the like), PM me. I've been thinking about doing this for a while, and it seems as if now's the time.

Okay, I got something going. I have a host (good friend) and I can buy a domain name. I can have this going within the week. I'm going to start banging people for donations, however, considering that it's going to take about $50 or so to get it started, and I'm broke. It won't take much...a buck or two per person who uses it would be plenty. I'll post the link here as soon as something even non-functional is up.

No, it's nothing against you. I haven't even been to your site yet. It's just something that I've been considering to do for a while, if only for me and my few friends who aren't that active here but would like somewhere to hash out MSU sports. If other people like it, awesome. I'll go check out your board sometime today, though, and maybe it'll de-motivate me. :)

I can read without needing to sign in. Thanks for the change -- you're already miles ahead of the last forum.
