It appears that Bradley has cut ties with Daniel West, an '08 PG recruit who verballed to Bradley last October. They cite that he will not make grades so they have decided to part ways. It's interesting that they say he is now being recruited by Louisville, Tennessee, and others. I guess Bradley doesn't want to take another chance with losing guys in the spring because they don't qualify. It also explains the signing of another PG a couple of days ago.

Or BU found a better player in Eddren McCain, doesn't want 2 point guards in the same class, and had a convenient 'out' with West's grades not being completely in order yet. Schools pull scholies all the time. They just don't always as convenient of an out as BU had in this case.

I think it would be interesting to know the story behind this pg switcharoo, but I doubt we will ever truely find out. It's hard to believe the academic reason given since McCain hasn't qualified.

I would highly doubt this is the case. When West verballed all we heard about was how good a player he was. Now hes not so good a player?

If the kid is getting recruited by Louisville and Tennessee I've gotta think he can play. I doubt the grade issue is to legit although it played a part.

Im guessing West was having second thoughts, his grades were questionable, and BU knew they could get at least a suitable/equal replacement--all sides are happy.

There is no evidence the McCain kid is better/worse than West. They appear to be pretty similar. But if McCain wants to play at Bradley and West is wavering, you take McCain.

Nope . . . it's clear that Les pulled the schoolie, not the other way around. One thing about JL . . . he doesn't lose recruits who have verballed. he occasionally revokes their offers though.

This supposedly had to do with Daniel West's academic questions and nothing to do with his ability as a basketball player. That's the point. I dont think there is any evidence McClain is a better player than Daniel West.

The BU staff was delighted when Daniel West committed. It's never a good thing when you lose players you are excited about.

I dont think many coaches lose guys who verbal. Some do, but I don't think Jim Les is any different than most MVC coaches in that regard or in recruiting as a whole.
