I give Mark Few and Gonzaga credit. He certainly puts his team to the test and puts them in a position for at large berths.

I'm always interested in the arguments pro/con that Gonzaga puts up for the rationale for playing all those crazy games on the road.

Mark Few knows, and has known, that even with all the success that his program has had, he still has to "shoot the moon" in his non-conf, because the WCC, traditionally, has been that bad.

They have two solid "home games" (WashState...which is a return game, and a good in-state rivalry), and their neutral court game in Seattle against "Tenn."

All other games against solid teams are road games.

Does Few do this with the hope that maybe someday the quality non-conf home games will start pouring in ..even to Seattle..(which, generally, they haven't..and it doesn't seem like they will start to anytime in the near future outside of one or two "token" good home games)?

Many have argued that this is part of the way "you get your program to be completely regarded in the elite"....but instead are they simply setting a uncoveted bench-mark for all other mid-majors to follow? (As in, the majority of the "good" non-conf games you can/will ever get will be played away...or at best..neutral sites).

I for one am tired of how Gonzaga (a self-proclaimed major program) prides themselves on their "tough road schedule" year-in and year-out for the specific reason that it feeds into the BCS-bias even more, and leaves little room for any mid-majors (outside of the "quota cindarellas" to make head-way and even the playing field...)

I would assume that most fans at the Valley schools, especially those that have had relative recent success would like to be considered on a somewhat more even playing field...then always a "step below" when it comes to scheduling..

Or this a battle that will always be fought in vain?
