This is a pure example of why pre season polls suck, there is no way the Bears will be as low as sixth in the Valley! Imo the Bears will finish in the top three in the Valley, and that will still be a hard fight this year because of the new coaching and incoming talent. :bears::bash:

The fact that they list Keith Worner as a key reserve for Drake makes this lose all credibility in my book. Even if he was still on the team (he isn't), he would be the last guy off the bench.

And, not listing Josh Parker or Adam Emmenecker in the top 9 is ridiculous. Those 2 will probably split time at the point guard spot.

Read, don't scan. It didn't say Keith Worner, it was Dean Wormer.

Don't tell that to McBullshat.

I can't believe I threw up in front of Dean Wormer.

I love how these previews always say that Hinson's going to take a "step back", because it really doesn't comprehend how much pressure's on him this year. They have the talent to finish sixth and take a step back. If they do, though, they're going to take a step to find someone else to take steps with. I'm suprised that I haven't read one national publication that's figured that out yet. Maybe Blue Ribbon will get it.

Is this the same Mo State team's fans that have been calling for Hinson's head for the last few seasons???????????????????

Boy do fans get worked up over this preseason stuff and what some random internet site says about them.

All you need is a computer and a few bucks and you can publish a college basketball preview.

DUBulldog, you didn't throw up in front of Dean Wormer, you threw up ON Dean Wormer.

Cut the horseshat, son. I've got their disciplinary files right here. Who dropped a whole truckload of fizzies into the swim meet? Who delivered the medical school cadavers to the alumni dinner? Every Halloween, the trees are filled with underwear. Every spring, the toilets explode.

Mr. Kroger, two C's, two D's and an F. That's a 1.2 grade average. Congratulations, Kroger. You're at the top of the Delta pledge class. Mr. Dorfman? Zero point two. Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son. Mr. Hoover, president of Delta house? One point six- four C's and an F. A fine example you set! Daniel Simpson Day has no grade point average. All courses incomplete. Mr. Blu - Mr. Blutarsky, zero point zero.

Correct me if I am wrong, and I am sure someone will, but wasn't it rumored that Salley would not be back this year for some reason or another? Has this issue been resloved and is he back for sure?

Seems kind of odd to put a team in first place when their only real returning post player isn't even a sure thing as returning. As much as I hate to say it, there is no way anyone should be picked first other than SIU.

Salley has been making preseason appearances with the rest of the team. There have been rumors, but the fact that he's still around for his senior year is a good sign.

Salley is indeed returning and will play an important role.
BU also has the two top returning scorers in the league in Crouch and Ruffin, and a lot of other newcomers with some promise.
But to pick them #1 is a little bold, so I am not expecting many other sites who do preseason previews to follow suit.

Have to call SIU #1 until somebody knocks them off that pedestal. As much as I hate to remember, they have been there for awhile.

I think those who are true fans of the Bears and continue to call for Barry's head would tell you he does just enough to keep his job. This year that would call for at worst top 3 finish and perhaps top 2. So I think even the Barry haters, of which I am one, would say Barry will get them to do just enough to keep his job, sixth place doesn't do that. Although there would be some that would be excited with 6th, as long as it meant Barry was gone.

I think Barry is a pitiful coach, but I think this team will finish no less than top 5, and I think top 3 is a real posibility.

I will agree with you that SIU should be the preseason favorite. I thought it would be a clean sweep in the preseason publications.

You are correct that there was a rumor surrounding Matt Salley. That, along with Austin being in Juco summer school into the last session made a lot of Bradley fans nervous. In the end, it looks like Salley's issues are resolved and Austin was able to enroll in BU. Bradley needs all the help they can get inside to turnaround the rebounding battle that they lost last year.

I'd say that they're probably the favorite, but far from a lock for that spot. They have as many question marks as the rest of us.

Anytime you lose the MVC POY, your team will have questions. Perhaps SIU should be the favorites with what they have returning and incoming, but I agree they are not a lock to win it.

I was checking the site out again today and the author actually put a disclaimer on the SIU section for all the SIU fans bitching at him apparently in emails over some things they didn't agree with.

Wow, and I thought only Shocker fans bitched, moaned, and whined over things...

Get over it. It's one guy's opinion. Jesus.

Pretty interesting that 9 of the 10 All Valley picks are seniors when this is supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Valley. I guess next year will REALLY be a rebuilding year.

what i find funny is that Randal Falker, the preseason POY by many accounts isn't listed as an NBA prospect, but Eric Coleman is...yah, ok.

I get that great college players don't turn into great NBA players always, but if your gonna list Coleman, aka the football player as an NBA prospect, you got to list Falker.

I also am baffled about leaving Bryan Mullins off any 1st or 2nd team list, guess this guy isn't much for defense.

Then if you read the SIU bio.....he says SIU should be the favorite in the valley, but then list Bradley as winning the conference. Which is it, I'm confused.

I don't like calling media guys hacks, because it is their opinion and your entitled to it, but when your prediction says Bradley, and you contradict that in writing by saying SIU is the favorite, your a hack.
