As an experiment, how about we start a dedicated topic with articles from the local media about your team.
This should eliminate the "shouldn't this go on your team board?" comments.
I'll start it off.

Marty Simmons Basketball Era Begins Tonight
Welcome Home Marty!
The city that keeps attracting Marty Simmons hopes that he stays here for many years. For the fourth time, Simmons has come to Evansville, this time as the Aces' head basketball coach. His team begins pre-season practice tonight.
Evansville basketball fans get their first look at Simmons' team on Saturday, October 20 at Roberts Stadium, along with a glimpse of coach Tricia Cullop's women's basketball team. Details will be coming out early in the week.
Marty first came to Evansville in 1985 as a player, and with him as team captain, the Aces won a conference championship and reached the NIT. After playing professionally for two years, he returned in 1990 as a graduate assistant coach.
He spent the next six years on Coach Jim Crews' staff before becoming head coach at Wartburg (Iowa) College in 1996-97. He returned to Evansville as a full-time assistant coach in 1997, and was here for five years before becoming head coach at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 2002.
At SIU-E, Simmons turned around the program and led the Cougars to two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. He was Great Lakes Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2005.
Now he's back at UE as head coach, preparing a team for its first open exhibition game Nov. 3 and its regular season opener Nov. 11 at Roberts Stadium against Samford University.
"The response from people has been overwhelming," Simmons says about his latest return to southwest Indiana. "It's never been a secret; this is a position I've always dreamed about. Evansville has a very, very special place in my heart.

Salukis host first official practice tonight
By Robert Crow, The Southern
CARBONDALE - For the Southern Illinois University men's basketball team, the fun is about to start again.
During the summer and early fall, the Salukis have spent most of their time on conditioning and strength workouts. Tonight, though, SIU can finally focus back on actually playing basketball. And the Salukis will do that in style, holding their first official practice of the 2007-08 season in front of fans at SIU Arena at 7 p.m. tonight, for what the school has dubbed Maroon Madness.

"Oh, I'm too ready," sophomore guard Joshua Bone said. "We've been going through a lot with conditioning. We've been working hard, and now it's about time to lace 'em up."
This first practice will hardly resemble the sort of tough, physical workouts that coach Chris Lowery and the Salukis are known for. Instead, it will be a session designed to excite players and fans alike, with a dunk contest, 3-point shootout and a brief scrimmage planned.
Adding to the festivities will be ESPNU's cameras, which will record the action and show pieces of it later in the evening as part of their national Midnight Madness broadcast.
For some of SIU's newcomers, tonight will be not only their first official practice as a Saluki, but also their first major national exposure.
"I'm ready for that experience, with people cheering for you, to get out on the court," freshman guard Brandon Wood said. "It's exciting having a chance to be on ESPN. I've never been on there before. I'm looking forward to that."
But once tonight's festivities are done, it won't take long for SIU to get into its regular routine. The Salukis are already looking to build upon last year, when they made their sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance, earned a No. 4 seed, advanced to the Sweet 16 and finished the year ranked 11th nationally.
"When it's time for that season to start, that beginning of practice, you just get in that groove," guard Wesley Clemmons said. "That's what every player dreams of."
SIU begins its exhibition season Nov. 3 against King. The Salukis' regular-season opener is No. 17, when they host Northern Illinois.

If they buy into DA's system (defense, smarts) it could be a better than expected year.

Peoria Journal Star:
Bradley ends first week at high point
Defense catching up with offense in practices
Sunday, October 21, 2007
by Dave Reynolds
PEORIA - After one week of practice, Bradley men's basketball coach Jim Les is becoming encouraged.
"Early in the week, we were good a day, bad a day," Les said following Friday's workout. "But (Thursday) night they had their best practice. And then I challenged them (Friday) morning to come back and string good practices together. (Friday's) practice was excellent, too. At the end of a long, hard first week, to string together your two best practices is a good sign."
Some of the team's growing pains are the result of assimilating seven new scholarship players (and nine of 16 rostered athletes) into the system.
"Our offense has been ahead of our defense because of my preseason paranoia to feed them more offensive concepts with seven new guys," Les said. "But the last two days have given me a little comfort that our defense is starting to catch up."
One of the defensive leaders has been senior forward Matt Salley, who has added a dozen pounds of muscle since the end of last season. Salley has led the Braves in rebounding during workouts.
"I feel like I can post up a little stronger and don't get pushed around as much as last year," Salley said. "It's harder to knock me off balance. I see a big difference."
Said Les: "Matt's been a dominant defensive presence for us day in and day out. Last year he showed us flashes of doing that, but it wasn't as consistent as I've seen it after one week. Offensively, we've put the ball in his hands more to make plays, and he's finishing strong at the basket."
Bradley has one more week of practice before next Friday's Red-White scrimmage, held at Robertson Field House beginning at 6:30 p.m. Continued development of the new players is a major goal leading up to the Braves' coming-out party.
"They've responded to coaching and the intensity level of our practices very well," Les said. "The first week they've had so many things thrown at them, and they're asked to bring an intensity level and maintain it that they've never had to do before. That's the biggest adjustment."
Freshman guard Sam Maniscalco said the mental challenge is more pervasive.
"You come here from class on a day-in, day-out basis and give 110 percent and compete," he said. "That's a lot more mental. There are a lot of spots open on our team, and the competition is at such a high level right now. So you've got to bring it every day or you're going to get exposed."
The 6-footer from Chicago has the added challenge of going head-to-head with four-year starting point guard Daniel Ruffin.
"Daniel's one of the best point guards in the country, and I take it as an opportunity to get better going against him," Maniscalco said. "I don't back down. But I also learn a lot just watching how he maneuvers out there."
