Taken from the Blue Jay Cafe,
It seems as thought the lack of locker rooms is the reason CU is denied NCAA bids.
Morrison Stadium’s seating capacity is 6,000. Construction on the stadium was completed in 2004 and the facility includes a state-of-the-art video scoreboard, team souvenir shop, covered chairback seating, luxury suites, enclosed press box, concession stands and banquet area.
Ten million dollars for the stadium and no locker rooms?
You have got to be kidding me.
A major sport like Soccer and no locker rooms?

Well, the way I remember it........and I was pretty young at the time.......Jim Morrison didn't need any locker rooms to change in. He did all his disrobing right there on stage.
Nowadays, we even see occasional efforts to honor the legacy of Jim Morrison.....like Janet Jackson in a Super Bowl, and Britney Spears virtually every day in front of virtually any camera.........
So in today's day and age, those locker rooms might be deemed a waste of money when you look at it that way.

Sounds like the CU faithful need to increase their tithes to St. Dimwitius so that they can have some locker rooms.

This even further shows how much love there is for soccer. No locker rooms and games out doors in the cold and yet still more soccer fans at Creighton games than shocker baseball games. Thanks for the update!

It clearly shows that the most popular sport in the world will smoke any competing athletic event.
We all admit to that point and bow to the power of soccer.
But come on now, what a bunch of cheap bastar*s building a ten million dollar stadium and no lockers for the participants?
There is a state-of-the-art video scoreboard, team souvenir shop, covered chair back seating, luxury suites, enclosed press box, concession stands and banquet area but no lockers?

and ranked #8 in the US of A to boot. Locker rooms are under construction in the new arena across the street by the way. Final 4 here we come.

Go away Blue. We haven't found DaShox yet, so there's no point in you being here.
Rumor has it that Dashox was looking for you (he was admitted free by the way) at the last soccer game, and was told by one of the fighting frozen footy-ball faithful freeloading few that you hadn't gotten back from Lawrence yet.

If NU's Tom Osborne had been running the Creighton Athletic Department back then, as he is now, there would have been lockers. Blue, only in your mind can a lack of lockers be seen as a selling point over WSU baseball.
You know, it only took about two years for WSU baseball to get locker rooms after they started the program from nothing. How long has Creighton had the footsie-boys?
And somehow having locker rooms across the street fixes everything? So, do they take the bus from the locker room to the stadium?
Save the money and keep letting them change clothes at your house.

I need facts. Define "cold". What games have had better attendance than WSU baseball?
I'm sorry, but there's too much generalizing going on here..
Since we can't actually compare a soccer game to baseball game, let's just do what's out in front of us that's comparable:
WSU baseball attendance. CU baseball attendance. Got the numbers?

If Blueblood answers that question we will have confirmation of the adage "Figures Lie and Liars Figure". I bet Blue is a no-show.

As far as the no locker room situation ... it's my understanding the cost of steel went up during the building process. Something had to be cut, locker rooms were. Since most of you don't know anything about the sport, the stadium or the situation and just like to spout off crap, I thought I'd help out. There are rooms that are currently used as "locker rooms", so the teams do have somewhere to go before, during and after games. The decision to cut the locker rooms was not just based on cutting money during the building process, but making money after it was built. The suites are sold for a nice chunk of change to bring money into the program, locker rooms would not. It's not perfect by any means, don't get me wrong, the place needs locker rooms. But if you compare Morrison Stadium with any other college soccer venue in the US, others will not live up or even come close.
As far as the moronic attendance argument, here are the facts - according to the CU website, the Jays lead the nation in attendance! LEAD THE NATION. That is comparing apples to apples. Not soccer to baseball:
NCAA Attendance Leaders (as of 11/5)
1. Creighton - 3,117
2. Connecticut - 2,922
3. Duke - 2,788
4. UC Santa Barbara - 2,702
5. Indiana - 2,455
While they may not be out-drawing WSU baseball, who cares? They are out-drawing a vast majority of other DI baseball programs. To me, this is good for WSU and CU. Great job by both programs. And I also believe that the over 3000 fans would be a DI attendance record, or close to it.
Also, I'm not arguing which is a better sport, I'm just throwing actual FACTS out there. (FWIW, I am a huge baseball fan, don't like soccer). BUT I very much appreciate the fact the CU soccer has made 15 straight NCAA Tournaments, been to three Final Fours and has the best shot of any CU program to win a national title. That's great, no matter what sport!
Thanks, I'll go back into hiding for another six months now.

In the latest(2006) NCAA figures for baseball attendence, as of today, Creighton's soccer team's ave. per game attendence would rank at #16 against all college baseball programs. . The Shocker baseball team ranks at #13. The soccer season is not over. Creighton will be hosting the MVC tourney and likely will be hosting some NCAA tourney games. Thus the ave. attendance per game will go up.

Blue, will you be buying 600 tickets per game for the remainder of the year to help ensure your life's mission is complete?

I guess he probably won't need to... since CU is already averaging 1,100 more than 2006.
As for no locker rooms at Morrison ... is that really so bad? ... given that most schools don't even have a dedicated soccer stadium... much less the locker rooms.
