That is simply an unspeakable tragedy. Random, senseless killing. I can't think of many things worse than that.
Here's wishing a speedy recovery for the Omaha "community".

That one hit close to home. I had two friends that had kids in the mall during the shooting and a third might have lost a friend.

Close to home for me as well...a guy I work out w/ at the bank lost his fiance and another's mom was shot twice and is in critical condition. It was surreal watching the mom's name come up on the news last night...I never got the name of the fiance so I wasn't sure which of the women it was (there were two who were younger that were killed.) Senseless indeed.

Let me add my blessings.
I was talking to a co-worker yesterday about some of the stuff that's happened through the years in and around Wichita. I mentioned the Carr brothers' murders. I told him that I was part of a 3-man study team with Aaron Sander in my first graduate school class - unknown to me at the time that he was an aspiring priest. He was one of the victims of the Carr brothers' brutality.
My co-worker responded by telling me that he had attended school in Pratt with Jason Befort, and after moving to Wichita he had lost touch with Jason. Sadly, the Carr brothers helped him get reacquainted with Jason under the worst of circumstances.
