Mr. Bibby thinks pretty highly of Arkansas and I thought some of you might want to read what he wrote concerning their most recent coaching debacle...probably premium.

http://arkansas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=748295

Last April, Arkansas fired men's basketball coach Stan Heath. The Hogs looked to Creighton and found their man in Dana Altman. Altman was introduced as the new Razorback head coach at a huge press conference in Bud Walton Arena. The next day, Altman had a change of heart and backed out of the deal to return to Creighton.

Creighton is not in the same league as Arkansas in terms of program tradition, conference prestige, facilities or national significance - not to mention the school cannot recruit on the same level. Creighton could not match what Arkansas could pay him. Every advantage in the world could not keep Altman in Arkansas. Fool me once...

Arkansas got Altmaned..... Again.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Two good coaches, both receiving huge money offers, doing 180's a day later screams that there must be something seriouslly wrong in the athletic department. Way to go Demon Deacons!

It only screams that we are going after the wrong coaches initally. Middle aged coaches in pretty good places for them and their families. They get offered by Arkansas and think it's they way they want to end their careers but in the end they realize they didn't want to move after all.

We need to get a young firey guy in football just like we did in basketball.

One that doesn't have a full grasp of NCAA rules, or care about lack of institutional oversight? :naughty:

I thought having a senile old man as an AD was the problem, but your new AD got Altman'd too.

Prediction: Van Horn will resign, Stephenson can take that job for a day and then return to Wichita so this whole thing can go full circle.

Unfortunately, I would never make it as an AD simply because I firmly believe in the old adage, "If you ain't cheaten', you ain't tryen'.
