#20....for YOUR DRAKE BULLDOGS....

Josh Young! Dude, you ARE the man!! http://smilies.vidahost.com/contrib/blackeye/2gunsfiring_v1.gif:bulldogs::valley::bulldogs:

Young averaged 20 points in three games, while leading Drake to three wins last week.
The sophomore guard had 23 points, including four treys, while equaling a career high in rebounds (five) along with one steal in a 79-44 win past Iowa State. He then had 23 points, including six treys, while equaling career high in rebounds (five) along with setting career high in steals (four) in the 83-53 win past Chicago State. He was named to the Drake Regency Classic All-Tournament team, while shooting 57.8 percent from three-point range (11-of-19) in two Drake victories in that tournament.

And to think he's just in his second year. Young is going to be even more lethal as time goes by. Awesome for Bulldog fans.....bad news for everyone else. I'm also thinking that once frosh Josh Parker devolops his shooting touch(already proved he can nail treys) and fine tunes his sick passing skills...we will have maybe the best 2 guards around, period.:bulldogs:

Fortunately for Drake fans, no one was there. Maybe this will keep him secret.

I don't want to take anything away from Josh Young. He is a very good player. But there is another very good guard in this league named Osiris Eldridge. You might remember that name, he was named the Freshman of the Year last year in the Valley.

Young averages 2 more points per game than Eldridge.(17.8 to 15.6) But Eldridge averages 2 more rebounds per game than Young does. (5.2 to 3.1).

CROWN THEIR ***!!!!!

DT is trying the reverse karma schtick but he's transparent.

Guess I'll wait til the Pups beat someone who will end up with an RPI in the top 150 before I get too excited. As I said long before the Drake train took off, they ain't no Thursday night team but I'll hold off CROWNIN THEIR ASSES just yet.

Wonder why he went to Drake?

Because he wanted a good education at a smaller school with a family type atmosphere.

He was somewhat unknown in high school, due to playing at a tiny Christian school. He put up unbelievable numbers, but the competition was suspect, at best.

He was a 4.0 student from a very strong family and Drake had what he was looking for.

A dinky high school sized gym in a bad neighborhood?!

I can still see in my mind's eye the barf on the sidewalk between the West End and the gym from my last visit, the smokey haze at the bar {c'mon Des Moines, Lincoln's been smoke free for years and it's a pleasure walking into bars}, the kid {CU or DU?} puking at the West End right when I got there {WELCOME TO DES MOINES} and DT and McBullshat bitchin about the refs after the game. HA!!!

Hey McBull, Dan Nowakowski is a Creighton alum!!

Who thought that Drake fans would ever get annoying??

Also, I am really surprised that Drake has fans that know how to use the computer. The youngest one that I have ever seen was in his mid-70s...

I will you the same as I told Dawg Tired as follows:

Hey, c'mon. I'm a Drake fan and only in my middle 60s. We may be a little old but we're virile. We may not win every game but we ain't ever lost a party.

Well, I'm 44 and I've felt the pain for several years. I'm sure I was watching games before many of these forum punks were in diapers. I came in at a good time, the early Lewis Lloyd games, but have suffered ever since.(they had better get that Lloyd banner back up or I'm gonna snap) I didn't even go to Drake....I've just always loved my local Bulldogs. I don't badmouth other teams or players because I pretty much respect them all....I love watching college hoops. I'll avoid the slamming of other posters because thats a waste of time. I believe in my team, I know that they are all class acts as kids, and they are more talented than last years team or any other team in the past 20 years. They may be one of the smallest teams, but I honestly believe that they have more heart and more hustle than any other valley team. They will win more games than last year, and if the coma crowd wakes up and GETS up at the Knapster, the new House of Pain will be in Des Moines. It may be a stretch, but I see un-beaten at home IF the atmosphere, the sixth man, gets involved. I'm there at the end of games, slammin' knuckles with the players, and showing them the respect. Being vocal comes easier when there is something to be excited about. The excitement is brewing.

Go BULLDOGS! In stealth mode, we shall wreak havoc throughout the valley!:bulldogs::bulldogs::bulldogs:
