Tough one tonight for the Aces. If they can pull this one out, I say there's little doubt that they've turned a corner.
Go Aces!

Aces will have to control temp and rebound well. I look for Jason H. to play better this evening as I do PVT. Granger and Garner are showing fast improvement under Marty's system. Prediction: Valpo 70 Aces 61

Valpo by three and shooting one and one after the TO. Just under 8 minutes to go. 8 2nd half fouls on the Aces, 4 for Valpo. Typical road game. Lead up to five. Gut check time.

Good effort by the Aces tonight. They played a solid team close on the road.
Fouls destroyed the Aces in the 2nd half......Valpo made 85% of free throws.
Valpo also hit some circus shots to open up the lead.

Valpo lead at nine with 2:30 to go. Valpo is a good team. Evansville played well for most of the game. Unfortunately the final score will not indicate how close most of the game was.
Cold shooting the last five minutes and a ton of fouls did them in tonight.

Have to thank Ely though as he hits a late three to close the margin from 11 to 8 when the Aces were getting 10.

Heck of an effort against a good team on the road. Wasn't much fun watching on the internet us go cold from the field down the stretch.

Either Valpo's record is a little inflated or the Aces are a little better than advertised, or both.

Aces take two steps forward and one step back tonight. Offense does a good job. They are a young team and things like this are going to happen. Hopefully the Aces can pick up two fairly easy games now before Chirstmas and be ready to open up conference play against Indiana St. which should be a really winnable game at home. Keep your head up guys! This team is slowing making strides

Game may have gotten to fast for the Aces. Solid effort, but I hate to lose when it appeared this game was for Evansville's taking. Would have loved to have had a healty Gomez tonight.

I actually watched most of the second half of this game and despite the loss and the total meltdown in the last 4 min I was much more impressed with EU then I thought I would be.
They played very well on the road for 36 min and if a lid hadnt formed over their basket and they hadnt had a few key turnovers then the outcome I think wouldnt be different.
It seems as though a light has turned on for EU. Talent wise they will have to fight to win every game, but now at least they are fighting.

Coach Simmons doesn't sound real happy on the post game. Said the team is pretty down in the locker room. Hopefully they don't fall in the Hanover trap on Saturday

I'd say the latter. UE has improved a ton since the beginning of the season.

Well crap, shoulda checked the game thread tonight. Didn't know video was available online. Checked the score periodically, but missed the video.
Sounds like the Aces put forth a good effort tonight. Certainly better than their trip to Buffalo. Like I have said before, baby steps this year, baby steps.

After the last three games, I'm convinced Marty is moving this team/program in the right direction. They're just playing differently than they have in the past. They're really starting to play the way Marty played--intense and smart. They are better at this point than I thought they would be.
On the less than smart side, Cousinard needs to stay out of foul trouble. He picked up a few quick ones and never was a factor in the game. He's been playing too well lately to be riding the bench with bad fouls.
Keep plugging away at it guys!
