Drake pulled out the win at Creighton last week.....who wins this time?

I don't think Drake has a chance. Creighton will dominate the entire game and before the end, they will only play with four (the bottom four on the team) to make it more fair.

Creighton 203
Drake 1

Drake could not miss the other night against UNI. I look for Drake to come out sluggish and not shoot well. I look for CU to beat DU in a close game. Thus starting DU spiral downwards!

CU 58
DU 51

It's been brought to my attention from many Drake fans from Drake Nation that Creighton has ZERO respect for Drake's school or team. They consider us lower-class which offends me since I attend Drake. Regardless, I say we shut them up again in a big way at home.

Huh? The Bulldogs were barely above 40% for the game....take away Korver, and the rest of the team was 11-36 (30.6%). Hardly one of Drake's better shooting games of the season.

Because ratemyprofessor.com is right behind CNN.com as credible information source  That site is pretty much a popularity contest; if the class is hard and you get a bad grade, or if you don't see eye to eye with the teacher, they tend to get poor ratings.

Anyways, back to basketball...looking forward to the game tonight! Drake fans are lucky--I'm hearing Pierce Hibma may not play tonight due to a deep thigh contusion. We're going to be missing one of his miracle "only in Iowa" performances tonight:jays:

A person can get an idea of the quality of teaching at a university by the specific comments made by some students. The ratings are highly suspect but the specific praise or criticism can be informative. BTW: I do agree that a student's grade or expected grade does influence that student's rating of the prof.; this is just common sense.

One can learn something about the quality of teaching by looking at student comments. Did the prof care? Could the prof speak english? Did the prof come to class prepared to teach/lecture?

One can tell something about the academic quality of the program by looking at the faculty members. Do they publish in good professional journals? Do they write (academic/professional) books? Do they get NSF or NIH grants? Do their students go to graduate school? ETC.

I don't know what to think of Stinnett at this point. For the first three halves he played against Drake this year, he was almost invisible. In the second half last night, he was almost unstoppable. If he gets his head screwed on straight and plays like the good Stinnett consistently, he's not just one of the best players in the MVC, he's one of the best players in the country. I don't think he will get it together, but the rest of the MVC is in trouble if he does.

And, 6 of those were at the end of the game when Creighton was fouling intentionally....the refs definitely let them play last night, not a lot of fouls called. As usual, about a third of Drake's fouls were charges.

Just as an FYI, Iowa shot no free throws against Drake earlier this season, and the game was in Iowa City.

I am confident, P'Allen will continue to improve in his consistency. He is a true freshman. P'Allen talks the talk of someone who is willing to listen to the coaches and learn. If you had seen him in the first 10 games, and saw him now, you would realize how far the kid has come already. Dana told him after the first Ind. St. game in no uncertain terms to knock it off and P'Allen did. Most freshmen are going to dissappear here and there. He certainly has. But, overall his head seems to be where it needs to be to allow him to continue to grow and mature.

Sure, he likes the limelight, but my expectation is that by this time next year he will be leaps and bounds ahead of where he is now in terms of his consistency and his maturity. If so, he should be among the best in the league.

Mecha_Bulldog
01-31-2008, 09:27 AM
Stinnett is young, but he has some major maturity issues. He spends too much time and effort trying to look and sound good, and not enough time and effort actually playing well. Wasting energy taunting the students is a big no-no. I'd expect his maturity to be a little farther along two-thirds of the way through the season, especially since he has the benefit of a year of prep school. He's 20-years-old, and that's six months older than Josh Young.

They tried to take the ball to the post, they couldn't ... neither have any of the other 18 teams in a row been able to.

Kills me is you go to all the other schools message boards and they all say about the same shat over and over ... it's hilarous. Examples -

"Drake plays well as a team. Give 'em credit for that."
"I'm not sold on Drake, they haven't played anyone."
"Well ... even though they beat us, we have better players."
"Drake has no inside game."
"They play like a grade school style of basketball."

Drake made the Top 25 by winning three games with the Valley's leading scorer injured. When in history of the NCAA has a team become ranked while starting three former walk ons?

Today Drake's SOS is (I think) #79, Drake's RPI is #6 in the country. Leading rebounder. Leading assist maker and ratio.

Wake up you doubting cakeshuck'n pracks .. the Bulldogs are for real whether you want to frig'n admit it or not.

DawgieStyle, I don't mind you opinion but S_T F_U DUDE. I'm sick of reading your ignorant a-s-s posts 50 f'n times a day. Your like a bad dream and a ****** bag made in China. Your BS goes over like a turd in a punch bowl. You Prack loser.

Sorry to those of you who have given Drake the respect due .. that was for all the idiots.:innocent::grin:

Let me add another element of respect. As of last night, #2 Kansas and Drake both have the same number of losses.

Good company to be in.

Drake is up to 6th in kenpom.com's RPI after this game. Just FYI

Color me impressed with Drake.

Congrats on the win - the biggest differences between the Jays and the Bulldogs is point guard play and the ability to finish. Hopefully my team can improve their PG play (Witter is making progress) and to learn to do the later.

In summary then:

Its apparently okay not to be impressed with Stinnett.
Its not okay though if one isn't impressed by Drake.

Game was 65-65 and Jays were called for a moving screen... Drake scores the last 10 points of the game. This bites.

Actually, Drake was up 67-65 at the time, but I understand your point. When it happened, I thought it was a ticky-tack make-up call at a very bad time of the game for CU. But.....I watched a tape of the game last night.....and it was as obvious a foul call as there could be. He (Walker) looked like a pulling guard on a sweep. There are dozens of moving screens in every game that don't get called....rarely do you see a guy literaly block (in the football definition of the word) the defender out of the play.

Don't drag me into this. I'm not the one throwing a hissy fit when someone says they're not impressed by Drake.

BTW, Stinnett in the second half of the CU@DU game was very impressive. The rest of the time against Drake, not so much.

Is P'God now a substitue player?

In order to answer your question, you will first need to define "substitue".

Must've been Lawson then....I still haven't figured out who's who with all of Creighton's newcomers.....and, by the way, you guys will have a helluva team next season.

Regardless of who it was, it was an obvious call.
