Well, at least the overall numbers are up a little.
Walk-up sales may suffer though if this winter weather persists.

The weather may change significantly by then.
I am really impressed by some of these numbers. Numbers like Evansville, Bradley, Northern Iowa ... those are some impressive gains for schools that are not currently at the top of the charts. Any idea what is going on in some of these places? Wasn't this supposed to be a "down" year? Maybe if Wichita wins a couple more games in the last couple weeks we can keep some of their people. Perhaps they are holding out to see who Wichita is likely to play.
Good post cpacmel.

I have heard from many Drake fans and I would guess about 1000 of us are planning on making the trip to St. Louis. So, we might need some more tickets!

The stats cpacmel provided were all-session tickets already sold. Everyone's walk-up numbers are higher than this. Just sayin..
That's good if Drake would bring in 1000. That would prolly squash the old Drake in St. Louis record by about 800.. :innocent:

Wow. MSU can barely find 500 people to make a three-hour drive to the tourney.

I say most just drive up and not worry about the all-session passes, that and the our biggest alumni base is in St. Louis so same principle.

I just like not worrying about where my tickets are, and not worrying about getting them. The past few years, too, they've been in those sweet club-level seats. This year, however, they'll probably be in the end corners because the team stinks. DARN YOU BARRY!!!11!!! ;)

Just guessing, but there might be a lot of people in Springfield and Wichita who aren't sure they want to risk wasting a vacation day to watch eight other teams play on Friday.

If you remove Barry from the picture you would see MSUs numbers swell significantly.

Creighton 1575
Drake 450
Evansville 275
Illinois State 644
Indiana State 150
Missouri State 509
UNI 650
Southern Illinois 1634 *
Wichita State 1125
TOTAL 8012

* Not totally sure about this #. On the last report they had 1734. Kind of hard to believe they lost 1000 tickets. I have a feeling the first number was incorrect.

So in about two weeks, MSU has sold *four* more tickets. The excitement is breathtaking.

I'm kind of surprised at the IlSU number. I expected it to be much higher.

It's not that surprising considering how we've fared the last several years. Hopefully we sell alot of single-session tix for our games this year at least and we should since it's looking like we'll avoid the play-in round. I'd love for this year to be a sort of re-start of our fans showing up en masse to St. Louis like they used to.

I'm pretty sure the top two if not top three finishers have a mandatory allotment of 800 all-session packets having to be purchased through the school {mid finishers 400 or 500, bottom finishers 100 or something like that}. If they don't make the number, the school has to buy the tickets.
Now, I don't know how the situation works since sellouts are occurring. However, I do know that about half the arena are comp tickets to sponsors and whatnot so I'm guessing the mandatory allotment is still alive and Drake is going to take a hellofa financial hit on this. :helpsmilie:

I just picked up my tickets a few minutes ago.
Accoring to the map that came with the tickets, it has a shaded area that represents sponsor tickets. I'd estimate it to be around 20-30% of the lower bowl that is blocked off for sponsors, including all of the seats at center court.
It might be interesting to see what schools are situated where. My tix are in sec. 108 (Creighton fans always seem to get stuck in a corner :cursing:). Where is everbody else sitting?

Lemme guess, SIU will get both end zones next to the students. WSU and CU will be in opposite high up corners. That about sum it up?

If you remove Barry from the picture you would see MSUs numbers swell significantly.I'll take you up that. Do you really believe that people don't buy tickets because they don't like Barry? Or is it because you're currently 14-14? Springfield likes a winner and even if Bill Self was coaching the Bears...there wouldn't be more tickets sold.
I hope there's a lot of walk-up traffic by MSU fans.

If you're an Illinois State fan, I'd think you'd be excited about being #2 (as of today) and want to fill the arena on Friday during your session.
Anyway, as a person who's gone the single-session ticket route in the past...don't show up 15 mintues before tip-off and expect to walk right up to the ticket office and get a seat before the game begins. The main lobby at the Scottrade is a ZOO when tons of walk-ups fans make there way into the building.
With around 8,000 All-Session seats sold, about 2,200 corporate seats...that's 10,200 (ish). How many does the lower bow seat? I want to say 16,000...that means we'd need 6,000 walk-ups per session for sell-outs.

Does anyone have the updated numbers per school? 6000+ per day would be tough for a sellout. But, I guess anything is possible. I hope it happens, as its better for the entire Valley.

This is through 2/21.
BU - 1000
CU - 1582
DU - 692
UE - 275
ILS - 644
INS - 150
MSU - 527
UNI - 650
SIU - 1634
WSU - 1125
TOTAL -- 8279
If there is a situation in which a school has fewer than before, it's because they returned tickets that they expected to sell, but didn't.
Those are the final numbers for sales thru the schools.

Man really says something about Sycamore fans.......oh well.
We're goin up but don't feel like potentially wasting money....if we manage to win a game we can always pick some up on the street.

No offense, but I don't get the "wasting money" line of thinking. The Valley Tournament is a 4-day vacation for me and I get the tickets so that I can attend any session that I want (or don't want) to see. The games are obviously a large part of the weekend, but that's not the only thing we do while we're in town.
Also, if you're a Valley basketball fan overall and want to see every game...I don't know why you wouldn't buy an All-Session ticket. We got them before January 1st, so we got them for $85 each...that's $9.44 per game...can you beat that kind of value?
panthers2317

On a side note, I'm happy that UNI fans are buying tickets...if I'm not mistaken (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) but I think this is the largest amount of All-Session tickets that UNI's sold.

Agreed. The Tourney is good for the Tourney's sake. If I had to depend on MSU doing anything of consequence to enjoy myself, I'd be a bitter man by now. Okay, I *am* a bitter man, but it's not because of the tourney. Just enjoy all the games for their own sake. It's fun.
