SIU has been playing better, winning 4 of 5. Three were at home and the road win was at Evansville, but it was their first true road win of the year.
UNI has also been on an upswing, winning 3 of 4. The lone loss at Drake by 4.

These two teams have been in some tight battles the last few years, regardless of location, but with the home team prevailing in all but one game since 2001-02. I think the trend continues tonight.

Back to the game, it was exactly what I expected. SIU won't win another road game this year.

I hate to answer this, but it wa a bad game. Fun finish to watch, but bad game on both sides of the ball. At least Wichita State can hit free throws. With the free throw percentatge Creighton had, if I were Marshall, I would have fouled the whole last 10 minutes, they probably would have won. Then again, in person you could tell that the entire Wihita State team was gassed and just trying for their lives to hold on.

With as thin as the bench is, this is probably about as good as Wichita State can play. Notwithstanding the first couple of games I attended, this is also just about as bad as I've seen Creighton since I moved to Omaha. Neither team looked good last night. Unfortunately for Wichita State, the game is 40 minutes. 38 minutes and they win. Then again, 42 minutes and Creighton wins by 15. Bad game.

Brutal, brutal to watch. The officials had no idea what they were doing and I think were even confusing themselves with some of the calls, pointing one direction and then telling the scorer's table something else.

UNI came out on fire, nice to see for a change and were able to maintain the lead after that. Though there were obvious times that the Saluki style was getting into their heads, nice to see them stay tough for most of the game and certainly down the stretch to hold on for a win.

Hoping there is some competent officiating that can at least maintain some semblance of control for the rematch in Carbondale, otherwise there may be a need for body bags.

You've been around here long enough to know why the SIU fans aren't here. It has nothing to do with any of the factors you've said. I try talking this site up but no one seems to want to follow MSN, Dawgie, Dawg, or myself back here. There are nine fanbases that SIU doesn't have a problem with on this site. Indiana State fans didn't chase off SIU fans, Drake fans didn't chase off SIU fans, Illinois State fans didn't chase off SIU fans.

OK we have a few who don't care for dissent but why the majority of the site. If not for the delusions of a few who made it their mission in life to destroy our program you'd have just as many SIU fans back here.

You need to read SalukiTalk more often, its been a fairly vicious place this season. As for me, I'll readily admit that I'm tired of the whole season. This has been a very difficult team to watch. I almost envy the Shuckers or Aces fans as they know their teams are lousy. The Dawgs should be capable of playing much better than they do. I'm not sure if its lack of leadership or what, but its been a trainwreck that is for sure. At least the tourney should be interesting this year.

This is very true. I made a simple comment last month that I enjoy VT more than ST sometimes because of the constant crying there. From the responses I received, you would have thought murdered one of their family members.

Lets be honest, the reason that their are so many idiots from SIU, WSU, and CU is because the have the three largest(?) and definitely the most vocal fanbases. Probably because of recent success. You had quite a few from BU a couple of years ago, not quite as many most likely because the student population is smaller and thus the fanbase is probably smaller. With all respect to DUBulldog and the other longtime Drake posters around here, they are now coming out for Drake as well. More success breeds more retards coming out.

Isn't using "font" and "type" together a little redundant? The word font as used in the printing and typesetting world is all-inclusive. From size, style, the use or lack of use of italics and even if the typeset is to be printed in bold letters, the word font encompasses everything. That is, a font could be 16 point Verdana, italicized, bold etc. To put "font" and "type" together, you have confused everyone. Thank God I had the time to spend a moment reviewing your post and digging deep to uncover what I believe you meant. Stating "HUGE FONT TYPE" is both redundant and very confusing. The whole arguement is subjective anyways. It's not like we're adding 2+2. I happen to have a higher standard than most, partly because, yes, I don't care what Drake did the last 20 years and I place a great amount of importance on making the NCAA tourney.

I think my opinion is right, becuase I have confidence in the fact that the MVC as a whole has risen above accepting anything less than a NCAA tourney bid to be considered a quality team.

Why you have a problem with my personal guidelines on a totally subjective issue still baffles me.
