Any thoughts. I say Bears by 14.

I know I'm a homer for UE, but I don't think they're going to get beat by 14. I actually think this will be a pretty close game. Both teams have sucked on the road, correct? It might be brutal.

UE 56
MSU 54

What has UE done in its last two games?

What has MSU done in its last two games?

I think MSU is going to win, and UE is going to be em-bear-assed by a somewhat em-barry-sing team.

Each game could be Barry's last as MSU coach.

14-11 MSU with 10:47 left in the 1st half

18-11 MSU now. Mitchell has 8 and UE is looking bad on defense.

Another dribble penetration, dish for a dunk by MSU. Evansville has to start rotating better defensively or this game will be over before halftime. Turnover, missed layup by the Aces. Need to stop the momentum. 22-11 now. Mitchell has 10 for the Bears. Under 8 timeout.

Do the Aces have a basket on their end?

Ely with 2 fouls now. 26-11 with 5:30 to go. 14-0 run by MSU.

2:22 left in the 1st. MSU up 35-21.

If you are UE right now, you have to focus on stringing together a few defensive stops and getting a couple of shots before halftime. If the Aces can battle back and get the lead below 10 before the half, they have a chance in the 2nd half if the shooters can get hot.

MSU switches to a zone defense. UE tore up their zone in Evansville so lets see if the shooters can get hot.

Holsinger with a 3 ball, Knapp with an offensive foul. 4 seconds left in the half. Bears had a foul to give. 2.1 seconds left. Haltime score MSU 35, UE 24.

First half analysis from a UE standpoint:

The defense has to improve in the 2nd half. MSU shot over 50% in the first half, mostly due to easy looks off dribble penetration and offensive rebounds. Evansville has got to figure out how to stop MSU inside, maybe throw in a zone defense.

UE offensively hasn't been able to find a rhythm. I'd be shocked if MSU continued their late half switch to a zone defense in the 2nd half. UE wasn't able to do anything against the man-to-man defense and UE killed MSU's zone during the 20 point win in Evansville. If MSU becomes content to let guys like Holsinger and Granger put up 3's, UE can get back in this game in a hurry.

Looks like it will be MSU's inside presence against UE's outside shooting in the 2nd half. If either team is able to take away the other's strength, they will have the definite momentum in this game. Hopefully UE keeps it competitive and has a shot in the end.

So much for that. UE timeout with 17 and change left. 42-24 MSU.

Well UE's season ends. Everyone but Gomez returns next year. Not sure if thats a good thing or not based on how this season went.

46-24 with 15:33 left

Evansville scored for the first time in the second half at the 12:25 mark!

BTW, the line graph on ESPN's website (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/gamecast?gameId=280662623) is very flat for Evansville. I wonder why that is?

The Bears are super hot going into this tourney. This could be the year.

...and Barry is supposed to be fired after this season. If the Bears win the tournament, will there be a legion of "Save Barry" fans? :shifty:

If UNI can't win the tournament- I am cheering for the Bears.

Barry is getting a raw deal. This reminds me of Lute Olsen's departure from Iowa (Not saying Barry is the same coach). Iowa fans bashed and bashed Lute but then after he was successful at Arizona they whined and moaned about 'How could Lute leave, why did we run him out'. Here is hoping that Barry runs into MSU as a head coach in the future and wins by 20!!

I think Missouri State is on a mission.

Good game for the Bears.

It's gonna be an interesting 6:00pm game tomorrow night..

All of you seriously need to RELAX. Missouri State just beat the 10th place team that won 9 games all season, and only 3 in the MVC. I'm not saying their doomed, but Evansville probably came in just wanting this season to end.

At no time did UE look interested in what experts call "a game of basketball". At 22-11, this game was over and the Aces were looking for the exit.

The Bears did rotate a lot of guys in, so at least they shouldn't be exhausted tomorrow.

Thanks MSU for putting the Aces out of their misery. This year went pretty well the way I expected. I'm still hopeful Marty will turn things around.
Good luck Bears. Great program and fans.

Whats predicting a loss have anything to do with being a fan? They beat us at our place and drilled us at theirs. It would only seem right to say that they will beat us on a neutral floor.

Barry is gone regardless and what we do. I would like to see us win it all. But the fact still remains that a play-in game team has only won a QF game once and I think it will remain that way. But you never know, anything can and always happens.
