Assuming CU wins it, and ISU and DU get at large, would MSU and BU get NIT bids along with UNI/SIU. SIU is a lock for NIT

I think BU for sure. Maybe one of the others gets a CBI bid.

Thank God were a lock for something this year.

UNI still has a dog in the fight.

How would the 7th team from the Valley, who finished .500, get a NIT bid?

If Creighton wins, then DU, ISU, and CU are in the NCAA. SIU and probably BU in the NIT, and then UNI or SMS might get a CBI invite. If UNI can beat Illinois State tonight, they might be looking NIT.

If DU or ISU win, then DU and ISU in NCAA, CU and SIU in NIT, and BU in CBI.

Agreed...I doubt the 7th place Valley team is playing post season basketball anywhere

I'm hoping MSU gets in so then after the NIT, I can start another keep Barry thread.

Barry will be let go Sunday or Monday so even if one of the post season tournaments contacted us we would either decline it or have Terry Allen coach the team

No way MSU gets a bid to the NIT. I think Bradley needed one more win, so I think they are out as well.

NIT is a little harder to get into now. Last year they started giving auto bids to a conference champion that didn't win thier conference tourney and didn't get an at-large to the NCAA. So a few NIT spots are now taken by conference champions of low level leagues.

I think this is a good thing because in those one bid leagues winning regular season title meant nothing except a good seed for do or die time. Now at least those kids who win thier conference are guaranteed some sort of post season play.

Also if the league champ also gets the leagues auto bid then the NIT doesn't have to take anybody from that league.

Agreed, and probably an away game for BU.

I don't think BU gets any postseason bid because of their season-ending 3 game losing streak, and quite frankly I don't want one. This season has been cursed, and I would rather start focusing on spring recruiting and contending for a Valley title next year. With our luck, we'd endure some sort of injury that would carry over to next season. Let's just end this thing.

MSU and UNI - heck no

BU - 33% chance, I'll say. If you take the time to break down all the reasonable teams in postseason position, BU is not the lock you'd think.

MSU - no
BU - no

CU and SIU likely to play in the NIT, in my opinion.

The Valley will definitely get 3 teams into the NIT (perhaps even 4) - we're the 8th toughest conference in RPI. DU/ISU to NCAA, CU/SIU locks for NIT, I think UNI/BU get in too:redbirds:

Who thinks BU is a 'lock'? I haven't talked to one person who thinks that.

Probably, but if the CBI is run like the old NIT (with attendance and revenue dictating the teams and matchups), then it would not shock me if BU gets a home game or two. That's what I'm hoping for anyway.

I think it's based on Seeds... higher seed gets the home game.

I think it is time to put the Bradley season out of it's misery.

I thought SIU featured bad body language this season until I saw Daniel Ruffin's final MVC game.
