I haven't been hearing much about new recruits signing to valley teams and i would like to hear about some more.

Creighton just signed 6'7 235 Xavier Keeling transfer from the U of Indiana and is now at Wallace State.

I'm thinking it's not the time to be "signing" anyone & the NCAA would surely frown on that. Verbal committment maybe, but "signing"......................unless signing JUCO's is different?

The kid was just interviewed by Perrault of radio station 590. He confirmed his verbal to CU. Described by a wag in the know as a bigger version of Nick Porter. We'll see.

I know Shocker fans are hoping to hear about a couple more this spring. Currently, we don't actually have any spots available but transfers are expected.

Although I will say about a month or so ago I went through all the commits for the Valley teams according to Rivals and have to applaud SIU. That's a heck of a class they have coming in next season.

LJ....is this guy more of a wing or a power forward?

Well, as you can imagine we aren't sure what we are getting into but as of right now we have 2 ships to give BUT that will probably change after we hire a new coach.

Before the coaching change the ships were going to a combo guard and a power forward

UE looking at couple of big guys and also looking at Kyle Cassity from Pickneyville, IL. He was in town when we played Creighton. But we have no scholarships left so draw your own conclusions.

I have long wanted the Bears to look at Kyle Cassity.

From what I can tell he's more of a 4 than a 3...could be wrong though.

As for Indy St, Rashad Reed of Vincennes was mentioned before. He has verbally committed to play for the Syc's next season. Not at liberty to discuss other recruits though :)

At the Iowa State Basketball tournament last weekend they mentioned that Kaylon Williams of Cedar Rapids Kennedy is being recruited by Evansville and Alex Weldon of Linn-Mar is going to Drake?

I think those were the only two Valley schools mentioned.

WSU has some offers out:

6'5" prep PG Antiquawn Beckham. Now getting looks from Kentucky, Georgia Tech, St. John's, and Mississippi St. (No offers from them yet.) Also has offers from UAB and Bradley.

5'9" juco PG Anthony Brock. Playing in Hutchinson next week at the NJCAA national tourney for Itawamba CC (MS).

We're rumored to be recruiting numerous other juco PGs. One or two others may be playing in the NJCAA tourney.

It also appears Marshall is wanting to land a post player (probably Juco) and perhaps an athletic SF.

Ditto for Bradley.

I'm not LincolnJay, but in his radio interview he described himself as a wing. I wouldn't be surprised though if CU has him primarily play at the 4. Rebounding/Physicality has been a weakness this year and we need help in those areas ASAP.

Is every MVC school chasing 'Twany? I know we were after him for awhile too...

Yeah, there are a lot of Valley schools in on him. He's visiting Bradley starting tomorrow through Friday.

For the record, I'd be surprised if we are still recruiting him. We already have two guards in the recruiting class and team is loaded with guards as is. With the XK verbal we also have no more scholarships available.

'Twany does sound like a talent and I think it would be great to see a Valley school keep him away from the BCS.

Apparently, 6'5" point guards aren't a dime a dozen.

I'd love to have him but we have to hope the BCS schools get their first picks. Even then, UAB appears to top his list.

I am surprised to read your comment.

When Miz Rio and I watched your play in game, we thought MSU was much better than a play in team except for the point guard play. I think the Bars need a point guard in the worst possible way.

If debatable if Mike Davis knows what to do with them once he gets them there, but he can sure get them there.

Rivals.com has indicated that UE has been recruiting Kaylon Williams. Rivals indicates that UE is his only offer, but that may be old information. I'm not sure how UE would use another 6'3" player

Kaylon is considered a three star player and is getting all kinds of major looks. Aces need size, but if you can get a kid l like this you do it. My guess is that at least one player will not be returning to the team next year.

Just to clarify....Weldon will be walking on at Drake.
