I am not an Indiana fan so dont know a whole lot about them but he skipped a name that I think would be a good fit at Indiana. Mike Montgomery who I quite frankly think MSU should have very high on their list as well.

I think that is a pretty accurate list of who they will go after. But, I don't think their search will take long. I think they will get either Stallings or Bennett. Both of those guys are in programs where it is only a matter of time before they return to irrelevance. Offered a top 20 program like IU, either of those guys would probably jump at the chance.
Interesting how his only knock on Lowrey is that he is friends with Painter and Weber. That would be one weird situation with 3 close friends all coaching not just in the same league, but in neighboring schools. But thankfully, Lowrey is not going anywhere (although I would wonder what Lowrey would do if offered the job, personally I think he would take it. Indiana basketball is Indiana basketball and for a kid that grew up in Indiana, there probably isn't a better job in the whole country). But, I just don't think IU will go after him after the down season and I think one of their top choices will take the job (sort of a blessing in disguise).

Steve Alford should be the first coach to get considered.

That ship has sailed -- or more appropriately ... sunk.

He has lost a lot of appeal in this state.

Alford has a habit of doing that.

His 24-8 record this season at New Mexico has really submarined that program.

Pretty sure Alford and the AD do not get along at all. That is what some people have reported anyway.

I think it will be either Sean Miller or Brad Brownell. Rumor is they are only going to have about 600k per for the contract, I'm guessing it's Brownell.

Kevin Stallings was my choice before KS got the job. He would be a great fit for IU.

I have not heard that rumor and I highly, highly doubt its validity. Money may be tight in paying out Sampson, it is not that tight. I am sure they will be over 1,000,000. Heck, Lowrey wouldn't even take the job for 600,000.
Also, I don't think it will be either of those you mention. Miller will be on the list, but not at the top of the list. He is winning at Xavier with Matta's players and Matta is an outstanding recruiter.
Brownell would be highly underwhelming to the fan base. A fan base that is already upset. If the best the current AD could do is Brownell, then he would be fired for sure.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised at Kevin Stallings getting the nod. If I remember correctly, didn't Greenspan hire him at Illinois State? The guy can coach, and seems to be squeaky clean. Plus, he knows Indiana. Seems like all the right buttons to push...

What about Bruce Pearl?
He Coached at Southern Indiana.
No matter how good the men's basketball team gets, it will always be a football school.
At Indiana, nobody cares about anything but Basketball.
Don't overlook this.
Bruce Pearl said he would talk to Indiana if they called.

I had to read this about three times before I figured out that "Kevin Stallings" and "KS" were actually different people. :ermm:
Playing devil's advocate... why would Stallings want to leave Vandy? Rumor says he's making a million a year already, and the pressure on him now is nothing compared to what it would be at IU.

That's a fair question.
Kevin Stallings is very familiar with the Big Ten and the state of Indiana (played and coached in it), and was thought for a number of years for holding out for a return to that league. Many thought he would take over for Keady. When nothing materialized he took the Vandy job where he has done a remarkable job.
He would have a much better opportunity to win a national championship at IU then he would be at Vandy. Recruting would be a whole lot easier as well. Yes, there would be lots more pressure. Expectations are alwasy high at IU, and not so high at Vandy. But IMO opinion there is no way that Stallings does not take that job if it is offered.

I'd add that maybe he wants to be at the top basketball school in the state instead of the third like he is currently.
