The player of the year thread is so much fun I figured we could have fun with this as well.
I am voting for Justin Bocot from SIU. Not one of the Fab Freshman but our prop 48 player. I won't be surprised if he leads SIU in scoring by the end of the year.
Have fun everyone.:valley::salukis:

Just about anyone can lead SIU in scoring.....whoever has the hot hand and hits all of their 3 FG attempts in a single game is usually the one.

this isn't much of a leap off the bridge, but it will probably be one of the new SIU players. Which one, I have no idea, but with a class this good, one of them will at lest pan out.

Candidates from WSU would probably be Toure Murry, Clevin Hannah, David Kyles, or AJ Hawkins (transfer) if Orupke doesn't find any offense.

They haven't 'proven' anything yet. They can't be 'this good' if they haven't proven anything yet. Don't you remember last year buddy wuddy? Do you like looking like a contradiciting fish monger?

That was money...so money. Good thing it wasn't Isaso, JJ Clamdip or Outpost or I'd have given them a rash of shiite.
Oh, and Carl Richard or Rashad Reed may have something to say about newcomer for ISU Blue.

hey make fun all you want, I thought Valley talk would be and has been a lot more tolerable for everybody since there hasn't been the everyday bickering that I used to do with Baller. I would have thought everyone appreciated that, not make fun of it.

Well, some Bradley alum who is now a coach in California stated on the Bradley board that he has seen Creighton's Justin Carter play and he is the best juco player he has seen in 10 years. Since I haven't seen Justin play, I'll go with this opinion to say he will be CU's candidate for this award.

Tell me that shat doesn't deserve some serious NOY consideration?!!!!!! If I were a Shocker fan, I'd embrace this, not run from it. No other Valley fanbase has anything close to as loyal, dedicated and passionate as Mr.

The saddest part of the video is looking at the hovel, listening to his IQ and realizing that Mr. Moooooooooooooooo is now getting famous on Valley Talk, yet the poor sap probably doesn't even have internet access, or the intelligence to use the web to track his fame.

I think NOY will be somebody new. Two candidates from WSU might be A.J. Hawkins and Ehimen Orukpe. I would find it funny if one of them won because they are both listed here http://www.goshockers.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPSID=61183&SPID=2851&DB_OEM_ID=7500&Q_SEASON=2007 (and yet qualify as newcomers).

NOY is supposed to be somebody new to the league regardless of when they were recruited or became eligible. Hence the title Newcomer of the Year.
If that wasn't the case, then it would be called Oldcomer of the Year, in which case you would have to search some twisted, senior citizen porn site for the winning candidate.

old comer of the year...can't we just trot out Barry Hinson in a pair of short shorts like Larry Bird, and let him run the point for the bears? That would get my vote.

Since Hawkins was a transfer and could not play, he will qualify as a newcomer.
Since Orukpe missed the bus from Africa to Wichita last year, he will qualify as a newcomer.
It would be funny (to me) if an "Oldcomer" did win the award.

Did Orupke qualify yet? That may be a hinderance to his NOY season.

I don't know. He is said to have taken his GED but I have not heard any results. I think someone posted that he had taken or will soon take his ACT/SAT exams.

First season playing in the Valley = newcomer.

I don't think it's his poster. And if it is his poster, he probably doesn't know who it is. He probably thinks it's just some weird looking guy that is fun to stare at when he's chemically altered.

If it goes to a Shocker, it would be A.J. Hawkins. If it would be another WSU player, the Shockers would of had a tremendous season. Hawkins is going to be a force in the Valley. If one of the other newcomers has a better year than him, watch out.

Would be disappointed if Kaylon Williams does not make a big splash his freshman season for the Aces.

Like several other teams, Bears will have multiple newcomers with opportunities to play significant minutes. Three that seem likely to get enough court time and have the talent to challenge for NOY are redshirt freshman foward 6'7 Kyle Weems, and prep school additions 6'1 Cardel McFarland and 6'7 Dominick Brumfield. But we probably have another 4 that could play alot, so who knows who will step forward.
