View Full Version : BU picks up a Juco...
6'7" 225# Sean Harris from Yuba City. The same place that brought us Zach Andrews and Boogie Wright.
He will leave for a 2 year Mormon Mission and have 3 years at BU starting after he is done.
His coach...Coach Corn from Yuba is VERY high on him. Yeah aren't most coaches. Coach Corn is a occasional poster on the Bradley Board and usually is very honest and right on the money with his assesments. As usual....we shall see but early reports sound good.
He has allready qualified and is known for his strong post play.
BU appears to be getting some good bigs to go along with 6'10 " A. Thompson who will be a freshman this year. With the glut of good guards its nice to see JL rounding out the next few classes with size.

Is Coach Corn the same guy that said that CU's Justin Carter is the best juco he has seen in 10 years?
We like Coach Corn too.

Head coach Jim Les, and Bradley University have picked up a commitment from Sean Harris of Yuba (CA) Community College. Harris is coming off of a monster freshman season and will take a two year Morman mission ahead of joining the program.
Harris, who stands 6'7", is known for his tough and hardnosed style on the basketball court. He is a big time rebounder who hits the glass hard. Last year, as a freshman, Harris averaged 14.9 points and 11.7 rebounds en route to leading Yuba to a 32-4 record.
Harris is an academic qualifier, and will have three years of eligibility remaining after he completes his mission, and arrives on campus. Harris will begin his mission in August.

I believe so.
This is certainly a different type of recruit for BU since he'll have two years of no organized basketball before coming to Bradley. It'll come down to if the kid is self motivated to work on his game and stay in shape wherever he is shipped off to.

Creighton's Tom Whitehead went on a Mormon mission and said in a radio interview that his verticle increased dramatically during that time. I suppose BU fans can hope the mission has the same effect on their recruit.

Interesting that the story deems to note that he "is an academic qualifier", whatever that might imply. Typical for Jim Les, though.

it implies that he was an NCAA qualifier out of high school. Thus he doesn't have to graduate from a juco to play D1. He will have three years of eligibility. Damn read the friging text!
It's like I'm message boarding with my brothers kids or something.

"embarrass"? No chance. I live for making fun of Bradley men's basketball and, yes, their "academics" and other activities. It's so easy, for one thing. The material is endless. And, no, I'm not "embarrassed" if any of it is repetitive with past threads, either.
Sorry, I gave away my shtick way too early here. :)

Your life must really suck then, I mean making fun of Bradley basketball isn't that much fun because most of their fans tend to not respond to trolling. If you want to get a rise out of someone, you should pick on Witchita, SIU-C, or SWMS.

Yeah, there's like five Bradley fans that post over here with any regularity, but we don't post very much, and don't usually get into pissing matches like some of the other fans over here.

Just having fun. It's just basketball, after all. Easy to feel a bit saucy right now, if you're a Drake fan.
Guess I'll move to picking on "Witchita" or "SWMS". :)
