We should start a Barry to ESPN petition or something. You know ESPN is all about publicity and ratings, so we should show that we care about Barry and want him to get (and keep) the ESPN gig.

But, if that doesn't work out, FSN really should come calling. The guy is a natural color man and would really do a great job calling basketball games all over the Midwest.

I'll agree with the first part, but strongly disagree on the second part.

Gottleb is and has been the biggest advocate for the Valley. He's extremely complimentary about the league and most of the teams and coaches. So far this summer has had two different articles that say very positive things about SIU and Creighton.

Why not have them both work for ESPN? I'll take double the coverage any day.

Hell no. Gottlieb is horrible and only pumps things up while they're hot. He has no backbone at all and rarely makes sense in his incoherent ramblings that transition into nothing. He's a Class A moron. He'd fit perfect at a sports studio in Stillwater somewhere though.

The other reason you like him is because he takes 'cheap shots' at Marshall. That's an interesting thing to like about a person. Says a lot.

I just got back from mowing the neighbor's yard. I'll do mine later this afternoon. God, if somebody in this hellhole of Springfield would just buy my home, I could move! I mean, all the big money wanted me out of here, but none of them will buy my house! Talk about only going halfway with the firing. If they really wanted me gone, they'd buy my freaking house so I can leave! I'm picking up spare change mowing the neighbor's yards. It's not a lot of money, but it lets me buy a couple of extra racks of ribs each month and keeps the smoker going if you know what I mean. Doug Elgin is a fag! He should have gotten me into the dance at least once. ESPN called back. They want to hire me. Problem is, they won't pay me enough. They think that just because I whored myself out at MSU, I'll whore myself out anywhere. Talk about an insult, $135,000 a year at MSU for a D-1 coach, what a bunch of tightarses! Maybe that's why they won't buy my house, too cheap. ESPN's offer is at $179,900, not very good for national tv, but better than what those ungrateful people in Springfield pay. I guess I'll mull it over. 10 years, all I hear is Buzz Peterson. Buzz this, buzz that, well they can all buzz off if you know what I mean! Yeah, and Buzz Peterson sucked, too!

I had to go get some gas for my mower. The guy down the street is having a party this weekend and I have to mow, trim AND EDGE! What a guy will do for rib money. Anyway, while I was driving down the road for gas, I was feeling sorry for myself, thinking about just how badly I've been shortchanged. Anyway, in a car next to me was this girl wearing a Missouri State sweater. She lost control of her car and it went into the median. I stopped and ran into the ditch. The girl was trapped inside her car and it was on fire. I ran up to the car thinking that I had to save her. Just in the nick of time, I saw the Missouri State sweater and I walked away. All I could think was the song Disco Inferno, you know "BURN BABY BURN!" I feel much better now.

Gottlieb does good work, no matter what shucker nation thinks. He and Bilas are the only guys to rationally compare MVC teams to BCS teams.
