Why didn't Lowery give a straight answer in the press conference. He never answered the question. Is SIU in trouble? Or did Lowery not understand the question?

BTW: Lowery is the worst head coach I have ever experienced. You always know when the team is gonna lose by his elevated cockiness. It's a Lowery trademark and you will see it next year too!! Mark my words.

BTW2: All other Valley coaches have been great ambassadors!! My hats off. Altman and Weber (more so Altman) have set the stage and may the show continue!!

FYI: I have been a Saluki fan since 1978...I am looking forward to Lowery going bye bye :bounceblue: He has moments, but he has done a lot of harm with his attitude.

Lowery is the first coach I wanted us to get rid of. I knew it was time with Herrin, but it ain't nothing like this. Lowery embarasses us on a national stage...He is too full of himself.

Lowery: "Too make the team better we hit the wall harder"

Lowery: "Let's wear pads to hit the wall harder"

Lowery: "We are better than an eleven seed because we hit the wall (despite the fact it is the worst team we put in the NCAA's) and we are upset"

Lowery: "Our offense isn't working...let's hit the wall harder"

Lowery: "We don't teach offense..only defense matters"

Lowery: "Self, we are gonna get a big raise at another school...Darren Brooks is gonna coach me a big salary"

Lowery: "It's all about me"

Lowery's youth is working against him in the pressure cooker called SIU basketball. He will get better with experience.

I think other coaches are as cocky, but smart enough not to show it.

Man I love it when a "Fan since (insert year)" can come around and rip a coach who has almost 50 wins in two years and has made the tournament both years, both as an at-large and auto-bid team. The Salukis werent even supposed to be there this year, and they still got there. Yeah, they got smoked. Crap happens, what can you say. Worst coach you have experienced, what the hell ever.

Drama-queen over-reactions, GMAFB.

Scalare went a little over the top, but his points are valid. Ace dads reply is right to the point. Experience can be a good teacher. Lowery is getting real life experience.

What did Lowery answer wrong? What question did he avoid? Is SIU in trouble for what?

I agree that experience will fix those things. However, posting quotes without context is borderline criminal. What surrounded the "It's all about me?" The fact that they lost? If so then Lowery agrees with you.

Those last two quotes he posted had to be made up. I cannot believe that Lowery ever said that Darren Brooks is going to coach him up a big salary

If you are 'dumb' i.e. not smart, then experience isn't going to help you.

I doubt if we throw in the towel on a coach who has won 49 games in his first two years and made 2 trips to the Dance. If he thinks this is the worst coach we've had, he has a very short memory. It took Van Winkle 4 years to get 49 wins. Joe Gottfried was 31-50. Both coached since 1978. I think scalare is overreacting to one loss in the Dance.

Well I know you are an SIU fan but please.

As was said before SIU was thought to be a year away. Almost every publication had them in the NIT. SIU overachieved and do not lose a scholarship player going into next year. It's funny how before the tourney many of us were worried about CLO being lured elsewhere.

Lastly if you think CLO is the worst coach ever. You must not have watched any MIssouri games lately.

Um....What the Hell are you talking about? Coach Lowery has done a GREAT job and I hope the Salukis can keep him on the sideline for years to come. I went to SIU during the scandal plagued Van Winkle years and the thousands of empty seats in the SIU arena. I look forward to next season already. So we took a beating by WV. They played well and we didn't have our best game. It happens. SIU and the Valley will be a force again next season.

Let's see SIU went 3-2 against the Sweet 16 teams and 4-2 against the NIT teams in the Valley...Lowery's pretty good for the youngest coach in the NCAA tournament again!

I would give my whatever to be in the Dance again like you guys were this year. Appreciate what you have. There is no shame in being Pittsnoggled. It's happened to the best of us.
