Excuse the shot if you must, but the group hug and celebration at mid-court?

yeah, that post was a little cold. the thing is cam ledford is a pre-med major with 4.0 gpa and has been a walk on for 4 years, thats tough...in this time he as played only a couple of minutes. he is devoted to this team even tho he knows he will never play a meaningful minute. the shot clock was winding down and it was an extreamly low percentage shot from that far out. his team huged him because they were happy that a player and person such as him got a piece of the pie, however small it might have been. he is our teams Rudy and our players were happy for him. so just cry about it.

Like I said, excuse the shot if you will.

The celebration of the made shot was typical, and tactless.

Act like you have been in the endzone before.

you just dont get it...he hadnt been in the endzone before. why cant players celebrate, they werent happy that they beat ISU by three more points than they would have, and had sean O hit that they woundnt have cared. emotions...players have them and express them.

You felt the need to stoop so low as to make fun of a school's colors.

Comebacks have sure dropped off these days...

Sr. walkon with 22 minutes all season has the ball in the MVC tourney in probably the last time he'll touch the ball for WSU. Ledford was 0-4 all season on 3-balls. No WSU players make moves to get the ball. Shot clock is down.

Are you going to deny a 4-year walk-on a shot in that situation? That wasn't trying to rub it in - that was giving a 4-year walk-on a chance to get a stat in the MVC tourney.

Ledford is considered the off-court leader and is a motivational student-athlete for the team. Celebrating Ledford scoring in the tourney is fitting, deserved by Ledford and shows the respect WSU players have for a player who has practiced with them for 4 years, but rarely gets a chance to see the court.

I agree with all the WSU posters on here. At first I was kinda pissed myself that he shot that 3, but then Turgeon said he was a walk on in the post game press conference and then I understood why.

We were at fox and hound and the place erupted when he hit the shot.

Why? The same reason the student section cheers "we want cameron" in the end of blowouts. We just want to see him rewarded for his hard work and dedication

You're a moron. The shot clock was gonna expire before time ran out so the senior walk-on took a three. It wasn't a run-up on ISU, that's for sure. By the way, good call on DU over WSU?? Now, just for your idiocy, I hope MSU pounds UNI and you can show the Valley proud in the N-I-T.

To weigh in on this issue, I think it was just a UNI fan who is frustrated that his favored team finished 6th in the conference (to a team that was predicted 5th that won it). As someone who has friends that are walk-ons, they bust their butt in practice to keep their spot, they pay their own way to go to school. If they have a chance, with the clock winding down to get a shot off in a tournament, that experience means much more than if the final score would read 75-60 instead of 72-60 (or something like that). If you have nothing better to do than whine about something like that, you have problems.

Get a life.

What is wrong with kids who are playing basketball showing some emotion after watching one of their own who doesn't play much hit his first trey in a tournament game.

Let me remind you, its just a game and its suppose to be fun.

You're right, we should have let the shot clock expire and got the turnover...I mean, who tries to score when the shot clock is running out right? WSU shouldn't celebrate a win either...

Cool by me if the kid makes a 3.....sounds like he deserves it, and I'm GLAD his teammates celebrated with him. That's probably something he'll remember for the rest of his life, and I'm sure the Indiana State players don't really care whether they lost by 15 or 18- still a loss.

So why is it no one else agrees with you?
No one else has a problem with players celebrating a basket by a walk-on who has meant so much to this program over the past four years.

Get a clue, get a life, stop whining.

Ever heard the expression 'beating a dead horse'? Let it go, man. It's like the first shot the guy has ever hit in a game, his teammates were happy because the guy busts his ***** in practice every single day with no promises of playing time. I'm sure your friends would be high fiving you if you got a piece of *****. I think that's a fair comparison.

I think its pretty silly to make a big deal about the shot. The walk-on had a chance in the MVC Tourney to make a three-pointer. Good for him! He's been a member of the team for a long time. AND, good for his teammates to celebrate it with him. From the sounds of it, this guy has been working as hard as everyone else on the team all season and throughout his entire career. It was a moment for him to shine and his teammates wanted to help him celebrate. Call me crazy, but its my opinion that moments like that are what sports are actually all about.

And compared to all the other stuff that we have to bust on WSU for, isn't this really a pretty insignificant thing?? :D j/k

Let it go...there are two awesome games coming up today!

More energy spent celebrating the plays they are supposed to make than making the play itself.

BTW...nice graduation rate.
