Big game between Creighton and Nebraska tonight at Rosenblatt. Truth be told, most CU fans probably enjoy beating NU (regardless of the sport) more than any other victory.

I think the game is scheduled to be picked up by CSTV and Jays fans would like some positive Karma from other MVC teams. A win would help us solidify the new top 25 ranking and keep a Valley team in the polls. A win should also help MVC RPIs as the hated Huskers are currently ranked eighth in the nation.

Root for the Jays tonight. (You can hate them again tomorrow if you'd like).

:jays: :valley:

With any luck, an M-V-C chant just might break out.

For anyone who wants to check it out, audio streaming is available at http://www.1620thezone.com/ and video streaming is available at http://www.netnebraska.org/

Beautiful weather tonight, probably 7-10k will show up and this would be a big feather in the cap of both the Jays and the league. For those worried about RPI, NU is 8th according to Boyd's World this morning. Would help about quite a bit.

Good game with CU battling back, but Reese gives up a HR in the top of the 9th to break up a 4-4 tie.

All reports I have heard is that Reese is struggling this year, big time, at least he was earlier in the season. Was the homer just one of those things or is he still struggling? Nebraska is having a tough time with Valley teams but does enough to get the W's.

Reece seems to be struggling some, but the game was lost in the second inning when the bases were loaded by consecutive hits batsmen, and then a line drive single to left. NU's closer, Jensen, is something else. If NU is going to be nearly unbeatable in any game they get into the 8th or 9th inning with a lead.

Reese has been doing well of late. He was great on Friday vs WSU and didn't run into trouble last night until the 9th.

IMHO, that was the best offensive performance the Jays have had in a couple weeks. They showed a lot more patience and ability to fight off pitches than i've seen in a while, esp. against NU's staff which is not going to walk too many guys.

Wore down Shirek and got over the hump off of Cranston and Bird (Erik Bird, Brandon's younger brother). Very few teams are going to find success off of Jensen, though.

NU fans acted like idiots, but this is par for the course anymore. I've been to a lot of CU-NU basketball and baseball games. When CU wins, it's generally pretty quiet and calm afterwards. Husker Fan has a definite complex about going up agains the Jays and "gracious winner" is not a label they would deserve by any means.

I'm actually encouraged. Grad is still scuffling (and if you get an even average day out of him, we win this game), but he's streaky and he is much too good of a hitter for this. If we play like we did yesterday this weekend, I believe we will be 6-3 in the league going into K-State on Tuesday.

Your kind of stating the obvious. 99% of the good team in the country are unbeatable when leading in the 8th and/or 9th.

WSU over the last 5 years is approximately:

Leading After 7: 161-6
Leading After 8: 173-6
